We are delighted to announce that HAQM Redshift is now available in the AWS GovCloud (US) Region.

AWS GovCloud (US) is an isolated AWS Region designed to allow US government agencies and customers to move sensitive workloads into the cloud by addressing their specific regulatory and compliance requirements. The AWS GovCloud (US) framework adheres to U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) regulations as well as the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMPSM) requirements.

HAQM Redshift is a fast, fully managed petabyte-scale data warehouse service that costs as little as $1,000/TB/Year. HAQM Redshift enables you to encrypt your data in transit and at rest - using SSL connections between your client application and the cluster and encrypting data written to disk via AES-256. By default, HAQM Redshift takes care of key management, but you can choose to manage your keys using your own on premise hardware security modules (HSMs). HAQM Redshift can also ingest data encrypted using client side encryption on HAQM S3. HAQM Redshift logs all SQL operations, which you can access using system tables or download securely to HAQM S3. Taken together these features allow numerous customers, including Nasdaq and IMS Health, to run extremely sensitive workloads on HAQM Redshift.
