HAQM Inspector is pleased to announce support for security assessments on Ubuntu 16.04 within HAQM EC2. You can now run assessments for Common Vulnerabilities & Exposures (CVE), HAQM Security Best Practices, and Runtime Behavior Analysis. To run vulnerability assessments for Ubuntu 16.04, simply install the HAQM Inspector AWS Agent on the desired EC2 instance, configure your assessment in the HAQM Inspector console, and run your assessment.

HAQM Inspector has also launched a Lambda blueprint to automatically run vulnerability assessments on your schedule. You can setup your schedule by configuring the standard AWS Lambda blueprint (inspector-scheduled-run) available in the “Create a Lambda function” section. You select your schedule frequency via a fixed rate or create your own CRON expression, provide the Assessment Template ARN (assessmentTemplateArn), and AWS Lambda will write the event to run your vulnerability assessment on a regular basis.

For more information and details on pricing, visit the HAQM Inspector site. To get started, simply login to the HAQM Inspector Console and configure an assessment. Need more information? Check out our Quick Start guide and the Getting Started with HAQM Inspector webinar.
