You can now use HAQM Simple Queue Service (SQS) server-side encryption (SSE) integrated with the AWS Key Management Service (KMS) in 13 additional regions. The addition of SSE helps you to protect sensitive data with encrypted queues.

The additional regions are: Asia Pacific (Mumbai, Osaka, Seoul, Singapore, Sydney, and Tokyo), Canada (Central), EU (Frankfurt, Ireland, London, and Paris), South America (Sao Paulo), and US West (N. California). Including previously announced regions, US West (Oregon) and US East (N. Virginia, Ohio), SSE is now available in 16 regions.

There are no additional charges for using HAQM SQS encrypted queues. You can use HAQM SQS to exchange sensitive data between applications using SSE integrated with the AWS Key Management Service (KMS). You are only charged for each AWS KMS request. For more information, see How Do I Estimate My AWS KMS Usage Costs? in the HAQM SQS Developer Guide.
