HAQM Elastic File System (HAQM EFS) is now a Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) compliant service.
Customers can now store sensitive payment card data in an encrypted HAQM EFS file system for use cases such as payment processing, mobile wallet, and payment fraud prevention that are subject to PCI DSS compliance.
PCI DSS is a proprietary information security standard administered by the PCI Security Standards Council and applies to all entities that store, process or transmit cardholder data and/or sensitive authentication data including merchants, processors, acquirers, issuers, and service providers.
HAQM EFS provides simple, scalable, elastic file storage for use with AWS Cloud services and on-premises resources. It is easy to use and offers a simple interface that allows you to create and configure file systems quickly and easily. HAQM EFS is built to elastically scale on demand without disrupting applications, growing and shrinking automatically as you add and remove files, so your applications have the storage they need, when they need it. It is designed to provide massively parallel shared access to thousands of HAQM EC2 instances, enabling your applications to achieve high levels of aggregate throughput and IOPS that scale as a file system grows, with consistent low latencies. As a regional service, HAQM EFS is designed for high availability and durability storing data redundantly across multiple Availability Zones.
With these capabilities, HAQM EFS is well suited to support a broad spectrum of use cases, including web serving and content management, enterprise applications, media and entertainment processing workflows, home directories, database backups, developer tools, container storage, and big data analytics workloads. Customers can move data securely and quickly from existing on-premises or in-cloud file systems into HAQM EFS with the EFS File Sync feature simplifying migrations and speeding time to production.
