The HAQM Relational Database Service (HAQM RDS) Recommendations feature now analyzes your HAQM Aurora configuration, usage, and performance data, and provides automated best practice guidance. In addition, HAQM RDS Recommendations suggests database parameter changes for all RDS engines.
HAQM RDS Recommendations cover a variety of common configuration issues such as outdated database engine versions, non-default security settings, and mismatched instance classes. First released in 2018, this feature now supports Aurora databases, including specific Aurora topics such as high availability settings.
This release also adds recommendations for specific parameters within DB Parameter Groups, across all HAQM RDS engines. For example, it will flag non-default custom memory parameters or query cache settings.
RDS Recommendations are presented in the HAQM RDS Management Console, and you can choose to apply, schedule, or dismiss them. For more information, read the Recommendations documentation for HAQM RDS and HAQM Aurora.
