In a single click you can now set all AWS Systems Manager Agents in your fleet to automatically update to the Agents’ latest version. AWS Systems Manager Agent (SSM Agent) is HAQM software that can be installed and configured on an HAQM EC2 instance, an on-premises server, or a virtual machine (VM) to enable AWS Systems Manager to securely connect to, configure, and manage these resources. With the new single-click setting, it is much easier to ensure that all of your SSM Agents automatically have the most recent updates and capabilities. See the Automate Updates to SSM Agent page to get started.
With SSM Agent, users authorized by your AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies can simply and securely execute remote commands or scripts against your managed instances via the AWS Systems Manager service. For example, authorized users can perform scripted maintenance tasks on production servers, regularly collect inventory of installed software, or apply operating system patches in pre-defined timeframes. All activities are logged to AWS CloudTrail, and a record of commands and responses can be stored in HAQM S3 or HAQM CloudWatch logs.
SSM Agent is a feature of AWS Systems Manager, which is available in all AWS Regions.
