HAQM Elasticsearch Service now facilitates connecting HAQM ES with two of the most powerful business intelligence and data visualization applications, Tableau and Microsoft Excel. To achieve this, we introduce HAQM ES- Tableau integration and the HAQM ES- Excel integration in Open Distro for Elasticsearch SQL Engine on HAQM Elasticsearch Service.
Open Distro for Elasticsearch SQL Engine on HAQM Elasticsearch Service allows the use of Structured Query Language (SQL) to manifest search results in a tabular format with documents represented as rows, fields as columns, and indexes as table names, respectively, in the WHERE clause. It is powered by Open Distro for Elasticsearch, an Apache 2.0 licensed distribution of Elasticsearch. One of the key features of this engine is the Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) driver to help connect HAQM ES to various business intelligence (BI) and analytics applications. We have expanded the capabilities of the ODBC driver via new integrations with business intelligence (BI) and data visualization applications such as Tableau and Microsoft Excel.
Users can now now connect HAQM Elasticsearch Service with Tableau to create sophisticated visualizations on top of the search results obtained from HAQM ES by leveraging the HAQM ES- Tableau Integration. Similarly, they can connect HAQM Elasticsearch Service with Microsoft Excel to conduct a deeper analysis on data obtained from HAQM ES using the HAQM ES- Excel integration. Such an integration with Excel allows users to use advanced functionality like Power Query, a self-service business intelligence (BI) for Excel and export data in the format of choice such as CSV on the search results.
To learn more about Open Distro for Elasticsearch, visit the website. HAQM ES- Tableau integration and HAQM ES-Microsoft Excel integration are supported on all domains running Elasticsearch 7.7 or greater. To learn more, see the documentation. The new versions of Elasticsearch and Kibana on HAQM Elasticsearch Service are available across 24 regions globally: US East (N. Virginia, Ohio), US West (Oregon, N. California), AWS GovCloud (US-Gov-East, US-Gov-West), Canada (Central), South America (Sao Paulo), EU (Ireland, London, Frankfurt, Paris, Stockholm, Milan), Asia Pacific (Singapore, Sydney, Tokyo, Seoul, Mumbai, Hong Kong), Middle East (Bahrain), China (Beijing – operated by Sinnet, Ningxia – operated by NWCD) and Africa (Cape Town). Please refer to the AWS Region Table for more information about HAQM Elasticsearch Service availability.
