Starting today, you can use HAQM Elastic File System (HAQM EFS) Quick Create from the HAQM EC2 Launch Instance Wizard to create new file systems using the recommended settings without having to leave the HAQM EC2 console. You can then immediately add your newly created file system to the EC2 instance you are launching and it will be automatically mounted on your instance after it has launched.
HAQM EFS provides a simple, scalable, cloud native, fully managed elastic NFS file system for use with AWS Cloud services and on-premises resources. It is built to scale on demand to petabytes without disrupting applications, growing and shrinking automatically as you add and remove files, eliminating the need to provision and manage capacity to accommodate growth. HAQM EFS is designed to provide massively parallel shared access to thousands of HAQM EC2 instances, enabling your applications to achieve high levels of aggregate throughput and IOPS with consistent low latencies.
HAQM EFS Quick Create for the HAQM EC2 Launch Instance Wizard is available at no additional charge in all AWS Regions. To get started, open the EC2 Launch Instance Wizard and click on “Create new file system” in Step 3: Configure Instance Details. To learn more, see the EC2 Launch Instance Wizard documentation and the HAQM EFS documentation.
