AWS Snow Family now supports the HAQM Linux 2 operating system, enabling you to run your HAQM Linux 2-based workloads at the edge on AWS Snowcone, AWS Snowball Edge Compute Optimized, and AWS Snowball Edge Storage Optimized devices. HAQM Linux 2 provides a secure, stable, and high performance execution environment to develop and run cloud and enterprise applications. With HAQM Linux 2 , you get an application environment that offers long term support with access to the latest innovations in the Linux ecosystem. HAQM Linux 2 is provided at no additional charge.
To add HAQM Linux 2 to your device, create an instance from the HAQM Linux 2 AMI for AWS Snow Family product in the AWS Marketplace. Once the instance is launched, add any applications or data you want on your instance and then save it as an AMI. You will then be able to select that AMI when creating a job for a Snow device. Alternatively, if your Snow device is already onsite, you can import AMIs to your device directly.
