You can now monitor the storage size of your HAQM Elastic File System (HAQM EFS) resources using HAQM CloudWatch. Using the HAQM EFS or HAQM CloudWatch consoles, you can view your file system's storage size over time, including size in each of the EFS storage classes - EFS Standard, and the cost-optimized EFS Infrequent Access.

To get started, log into your HAQM EFS console, select a file system, and navigate to the ‘Monitoring’ tab. Here, you can view a graph for the StorageBytes metric, which displays your file system's storage size for each storage class. The metric is also available to monitor from the CloudWatch console and its API, CLI, and the AWS SDKs. The breakdown of usage by storage class helps you understand how EFS lifecycle management can reduce storage costs over time as it moves your files from EFS Standard to EFS Infrequent Access.

The new metric is available in all AWS regions and can be viewed using the EFS console in all AWS commercial regions. You can learn more by logging into the HAQM EFS console and by reading the EFS documentation.
