You can now easily list HAQM EMR releases available in an HAQM region and describe the applications available with any HAQM EMR release. Previously, if you were looking to launch HAQM EMR clusters in new regions, or with the latest version of an application, you had to read the release notes and manually update your cluster launch workflow. The new API parameters now allow you to programmatically identify this information, enabling you to automate your cluster launch workflows.
You can use this feature from the command line interface or programmatically by using the DescribeReleaseLabel and ListReleaseLabel API parameters. This feature is generally available for all HAQM EMR versions, in all AWS regions where HAQM EMR is available. To learn more about these API parameters visit our documentation.
