HAQM Managed Grafana now supports direct connectivity to data sources hosted in your HAQM Virtual Private Cloud (VPC). HAQM Managed Grafana is a fully managed service for open-source Grafana that simplifies connecting to open-source, third-party ISV, and AWS services for visualizing and analyzing your data sources at scale. HAQM VPC is a virtual network dedicated to your AWS account where you have complete control over the virtual networking environment, including creating public-facing and private-facing subnets for your applications to connect.

Previously, HAQM Managed Grafana connected to VPC hosted data sources via public networks. Now, HAQM Managed Grafana can also connect to data sources that are inside a VPC without using public IPs or requiring traffic to traverse the Internet. Data sources such as OpenSearch, HAQM RDS databases, self-managed Prometheus, and other data sources often do not have a publicly facing endpoint. By connecting your HAQM Managed Grafana workspaces to your VPC, you will now be able to query, visualize, and alert on the data sources within your VPC. You can also connect Grafana workspaces to multiple VPCs using VPC Peering or AWS Transit Gateway. In this way, you can have both your privately-hosted and public-facing data sources connect to the same HAQM Managed Grafana workspace to visualize your data all in one place.

This feature is available within the following AWS Regions: US East (Ohio), US East (N Virginia), US West (Oregon), Europe (Ireland), Europe (Frankfurt), Asia Pacific (Sydney) and Asia Pacific (Tokyo). To configure VPC for Managed Grafana workspaces, you can use the AWS Console, SDK, or CLI. Check out the HAQM Managed Grafana user guide for detailed documentation.
