HAQM Managed Streaming for Apache Kafka (HAQM MSK) Serverless now supports writes and reads from Kafka clients written in all programming languages. Administrators can simplify and standardize access control to Kafka resources using AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM). HAQM MSK’s IAM support is based on SASL/OAUTHBEARER, an open standard for authorization and authentication. HAQM MSK Serverless is a cluster type for HAQM MSK that allows you to run Apache Kafka without having to manage and scale cluster capacity. MSK Serverless automatically provisions and scales compute and storage resources, so you can use Apache Kafka on demand.
Developers can now build applications on HAQM MSK Serverless with minimal code changes using HAQM MSK’s open-sourced client helper libraries and code samples for popular languages, including Java, Python, Go, JavaScript, and .NET. Customers can also use standard IAM access controls such as temporary role-based credentials and precisely scoped permission policies more broadly with the multiple language support on HAQM MSK Serverless.
HAQM MSK Serverless support for clients in all programming languages is available at no additional cost in all regions where HAQM MSK Serverless is supported. To learn more, visit our launch blog and the HAQM MSK Developer Guide.
