AWS is renaming HAQM Kinesis Data Firehose to HAQM Data Firehose. HAQM Data Firehose is the easiest way to capture, transform, and deliver data streams into HAQM S3, HAQM Redshift, HAQM OpenSearch Service, Splunk, Snowflake, and other 3rd party analytics services. The name change is effective in the AWS Management Console, documentation, and service web pages. There are no other changes, including service endpoints, APIs, the AWS Command Line Interface (AWS CLI), the AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) access policies, and HAQM CloudWatch metrics. Your existing applications will continue to work as they did previously.

With HAQM Data Firehose, you can reduce the complexity of maintaining streaming data delivery pipelines. HAQM Data Firehose will manage the provisioning and scaling of resources on your behalf. HAQM Data Firehose integrates with HAQM Kinesis Data Streams (KDS), HAQM Managed Streaming for Kafka (MSK), and over 20 other AWS sources to ingest streaming data. You can also ingest data directly from your own data sources using the Direct PUT API. You can transform your data streams into formats like Parquet and ORC, and dynamically partition data to write to the HAQM S3 destination bucket with different S3 prefixes using metadata attributes. You pay for the amount of data you process through the service with no minimum fee or setup cost.

For more information about the AWS Regions where HAQM Data Firehose is available, see the AWS Region table. To learn more, see HAQM Data Firehose and the HAQM Data Firehose Developer Guide.
