Spring Venture Group reached out to APN Premier Partner Logicworks to architect and manage their AWS deployment. Their developers were comfortable building and deploying containers in their on-premises environment, but were eager to get greater agility and flexibility on AWS. Running AWS Service Catalog and HAQM ECS has created a reliable, stable deployment pipeline, resulting in hundreds of hours saved for their engineering team each month.

This is the third post in our series documenting a project to fix issues with the AWS GameDay architecture by using tenets of the AWS Well-Architected Framework. In Part 2, we remediated the critical findings found in our initial review and here we’ll cover remediating the deficiencies found in our Disaster Recovery plan, as well as other optimizations we’ve made due to recent announcements. To reduce expenses and accelerate time to market, KQED looked to APN Partners Atlassian and iTMethods to migrate its services to the AWS Cloud. KQED’s television, radio, digital media, and educational services serve the people of Northern California with a community-supported alternative to commercial media. It enabled software development though the use of Atlassian Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, and Bamboo on-premises, but KQED lacked in-house expertise to manage Atlassian solutions in the cloud.

CorpInfo, an APN Premier Consulting Partner and Managed Service Provider, has changed its name to Onica and announced a strategic shift to focus exclusively on AWS services and solutions. Onica joined the APN in 2013 and quickly became a Premier Consulting Partner. The company has since completed more than 400 AWS engagements and now boasts over 150 AWS certifications with customers spending more than $100 million a year on the cloud.

The first generation of cloud adopters had a massive advantage over the mid-market and enterprise customers who came after them—their applications were born in the cloud. They did not have years, even decades, of legacy infrastructure running these new apps, so they were largely unencumbered to go “all-in” on AWS. Today, a new generation of companies is navigating a journey to AWS, and those companies have a very different set of challenges to overcome.
