Let’s take a quick look at what happened in AWS-land last week:

Monday April 18	We announced that AWS CodePipeline Now Integrates with AWS CodeCommit. We announced that AWS CloudFormation Now Supports HAQM API Gateway, and Includes Improved Support for CloudWatch Events and AWS WAF. The AWS Developer Blog talked about Serverless Service Discovery (Part 1 – Getting Started; Part 2 – Lookup). The AWS Mobile Development Blog discussed Predictive Maintenance with AWS IoT and HAQM Machine Learning. The AWS Big Data Blog recapped AWS at Strata+Hadoop 2016: Building a Scalable Architecture on AWS to Process Streaming Data. Cloudonaut wrote about Antivirus for S3 Buckets. nulab shared A Tale of Migrating to HAQM Aurora with no Interruption of Service.
Tuesday April 19	We announced New Cold Storage and Throughput Options for HAQM EBS. We announced an AWS Device Farm Update – Remote Access to Devices for Interactive Testing. We announced Your User Pools for HAQM Cognito. We announced an HAQM Kinesis Update – HAQM Elasticsearch Service Integration, Shard-Level Metrics, Time-Based Iterators. We announced Managed Platform Updates for AWS Elastic Beanstalk. We updated the AWS Mobile SDK for iOS, AWS CLI, AWS SDK for Java, AWS SDK for Android, AWS SDK for Ruby, AWS SDK for Go, and the AWS SDK for JavaScript. The AWS Government, Education, & Nonprofits Blog published a Guide to Cloud Success – Understanding the AWS Cloud Adoption Framework. The AWS Partner Network Blog revealed Why Our Customers Love HAQM Machine Learning – A Guest Post from 47Lining. The AWS Big Data Blog talked about Using CombineInputFormat to Combat Hadoop’s Small Files Problem. Stelligent wrote about Security Integration Testing & Resource Monitoring with AWS Config Rules. Localytics shared their HAQM EBS SC1 Initial Impressions. Citus launched Citus Cloud on AWS. NameFace wrote about How To Organize, Name And Monetize Crazy Amounts Of Photos: Call The Snowball! Wednesday April 20	We announced that HAQM Elastic Transcoder Now Supports VP9. The AWS Compute Blog showed you How to Turn Node.js Projects into AWS Lambda Microservices Easily with ClaudiaJS. The AWS Security Blog announced that HAQM Inspector is Now Generally Available. Botmetric wrote about Understanding Compliance in the AWS Cloud. DZone Cloud Zone showed you how to Manage EC2 SSH Access with IAM.
Thursday April 21	We announced that HAQM CloudWatch Events are Now Available in the Asia Pacific (Sydney) Region. We announced that VPC Flow Logs are Now Available in the Sao Paulo Region. We announced that the AWS Support API is Now Integrated with CloudTrail. The AWS Developer Blog talked about Using a Thread Pool with the AWS SDK for C++. The AWS Security Blog showed you How to Prevent Hotlinking by Using AWS WAF, HAQM CloudFront, and Referer Checking. The AWS Big Data Blog showed you how to Combine NoSQL and Massively Parallel Analytics Using Apache HBase and Apache Hive on HAQM EMR. We updated the AWS SDK for JavaScript, AWS SDK for Go, and the AWS SDK for Ruby. Botmetric wrote about Cost Optimization with AWS – Managing Costs, Intelligently. N2W Software wrote about HAQM Aurora, an Enterprise Grade Database: Scalability, Performance and Availability.
Friday April 22	We announced that Apache HBase 1.2 is Now Available as part of an EMR Update. We announced that AWS Mobile Hub Now supports HAQM DynamoDB. We announced that Enhanced Monitoring is Now Available for HAQM RDS for SQL Server. We published an Ansible Tower Quick Start Reference Deployment. The AWS Compute Blog talked about Using AWS Lambda to Expose Custom Cookies with API Gateway. The AWS Partner Network Blog published a Recap of the AWS NoSQL and IoT Partner Workshops.
Saturday April 23	DZone Cloud Zone shared 5 Innovative Uses for Cloud Technology.
Sunday April 24	Cloudability wrote about m4.large vs. c4.large: Examining the two HAQM EC2 Instances.

New & Notable Open Source

amazon-redshift-monitoring uses CloudWatch and Lambda to generate CloudWatch custom alarms.
amazon-redshift-utils contains utilities, scripts, and views that are useful in a Redshift environment.
dynamodbtocsv downloads a DynamoDB table and exports the contents in CSV form.
AndroidPerfTestExample implements automated Android A/B performance testing with AWS Device Farm, New Relic, and TravisCI.
awsips is a simple Go package which downloads and returns the AWS IP address ranges.
bootstrap-cfn is an opinionated layer for AWS CloudFormation.
botoform helps to architect infrastructure on AWS using YAML.
aws-cloudformation-generator generates a CloudFormation template from a Python object.
aws-api-gateway-bodyparser parses x-www-form-urlencoded requests into JSON for use with API Gateway.
chef-provisioning-aws is an AWS driver and a set of resources for Chef that uses the AWS SDK.
