AWS Week in Review – December 9, 2013 Let’s take a quick look at what happened in AWS-land last week: Monday, December 9 We announced that AWS Elastic Beanstalk now supports Version 5.5 of PHP. Tuesday, December 10 We announced that the AWS Management Console now includes Auto Scaling Support. The AWS Security Blog talked about Enabling Federation to AWS using Windows Active Directory, ADFS, and SAML 2.0. Wednesday, December 11 We introduced Background Task Handling for AWS Elastic Beanstalk. The AWS .Net Development Blog published Part 2 of an article on Using IAM Users. Thursday, December 12 We announced the availability of Global Secondary Indexes for HAQM DynamoDB. The HAQM Mobile App Distribution Blog talked about Getting on More Screens With HAQM AppStream. The AWS .Net Development Blog talked about Creating HAQM DynamoDB Tables With PowerShell. The AWS Java Development Blog talked about Metric Configuration in AWS SDK for Java. Friday, December 13 We announced that you can now Analyze Large Data Sets on Elastic MapReduce Clusters Using Impala. We announced that CloudWatch Metrics for EC2 Status Checks are now Collected at One Minute Intervals. This week AWS Marketplace added new products including ScaleArc iDB for Microsoft SQL Server, Barracuda NG Firewall, Telscale SMSC, YSO Xenofile Country Blocker and Coronado NAS Gateway. Sunday, December 15 We announced Three New Edge Locations (Manila, Marseille, and Warsaw) for CloudFront and Route 53. We added new AWS Customer Success stories for Berliner Philharmoniker (German), Euclid, ME Bank, SunPower Corporation, and utd. by content. Stay tuned for next week!
