AWS Week in Review – January 27, 2014 Let’s take a quick look at what happened in AWS-land last week: Monday, January 27 We announced that AWS CloudFormation now supports Auto Scaling Scheduled Actions and DynamoDB Secondary Indexes. We announced a new Financial Services Category in the AWS Marketplace. Tuesday, January 28 We announced that HAQM Kinesis can now Connect to Storm. Wednesday, January 29 We released EC2 Instance Usage and Reserved Instance Utilization Reports. We announced the Dead Letter Queue for HAQM SNS. We announced that HAQM Simple Email Service is Now Available in Two New Locations. Thursday, January 30 We talked about how HAQM AppStream Can Improve the New-User Experience for Eve Online. We introduced Improved Searching and Filtering for the AWS Marketplace. We introduced New Features for AWS Route 53 – Improved Health Checks, HTTPS, and Record Modification. Friday, January 31 This week AWS Marketplace added new products including Elastic SSO, Grok, Yhat, and ParElastic. The AWS Java Development Blog announced that the AWS Toolkit for Eclipse now supports Two New HAQM RDS Database Engines (PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server). Along with a price reduction, we also announced that the AWS Storage Gateway Supports Windows Server Failover Clustering and the VMware ESC iSCSI Initiator. Stay tuned for next week!
