AWS Week in Review – October 13, 2014

Let’s take a quick look at what happened in AWS-land last week:

Monday, October 13	We announced the first Internet of Things (IoT) Hack Day at re:Invent. We announced that HAQM Elastic Transcoder now Supports HLSv4. The AWS Java Blog published Part 1 of the Introducing the DynamoDB API series. The AWS Ruby Development Blog launched a series of articles on the topic of Ruby on Rails on HAQM Web Services.
Tuesday, October 14	A post on the AWS Security Blog announced Easier Role Selection for SAML-Based Single Sign-On. The AWS Mobile Development Blog published Part 2 of a series on Understanding HAQM Cognito Authentication – Developer Authenticated Identities. A post on the HAQM Mobile App Distribution Blog invited you to Join the HAQM Appstore Team at the AWS Loft in San Francisco.
Wednesday, October 15	We published a new AWS Quick Start for Cloudera Enterprise Data Hub. The AWS Big Data Blog showed you how to Deploy Cloudera’s Enterprise Data Hub on AWS. We annouced that HAQM WorkSpaces now Supports PCoIP Zero Clients. The HAQM Simple Email Service Blog talked about SPF and HAQM SES. The AWS Windows and .NET Developer Blog talked about Getting Ready for re:Invent. The AWS Ruby Development Blog showed you how to Deploy Ruby on Rails Applications to AWS OpsWorks. The AWS Startup Collection discussed Piling on the Nines With EC2 at Cotap. The Gathering Clouds Blog talked about The Importance of DevOps When Deploying with AWS. We released version 0.14 of cfncluster. This framework deploys and maintains HPC clusters on AWS. An article on the Priceonomics Blog asked the question Mechanical Turk: The New Face of Behavioral Science?
Thursday, October 16	We announced that HAQM RDS Now Supports Oracle Database 11.2.0.4v2. My new colleague Stephen Orban launched the AWS Enterprise Blog and published his first post: AWS in the Enterprise. We launched Enhanced Japanese Language Processing and CloudTrail Support for HAQM CloudSearch. The AWS Security Blog talked about New Support for Federation and Instance Profiles in AWS Elastic Beanstalk. Mark Nunnikhoven of Trend Micro published a presentation to show you Shared Responsibility in Action.
Friday, October 17	We announced Upcoming Maintenance and new Features for HAQM Redshift.
