Monday October 3	Mistwire.com kicked off a series of articles on studying for the AWS Solutions Architect Professional certification. The AWS Podcast released an episode with a raft of Service updates and a Black-Belt Tip. The AWS Database Blog talked about Server-Side Scripting with Lua for ElastiCache for Redis. The A Cloud Guru blog wrote about Learning AWS — For the budget conscious The AWS Government, Education, & Nonprofits Blog shared their AWS Public Sector Month in Review – September. The Cloudability blog answers burning questions about the new AWS Convertible Reserved Instance and Regional Benefit feature. Botmetric listed 5 Must-Address AWS Disaster Recover Challenges (for Beginners).
Tuesday October 4	I wrote about Running Express Applications on AWS Lambda and HAQM API Gateway. We announced Automated Task and Image Cleanup for HAQM ECS. We announced support for 8 New AWS Config Rules to Govern the Configuration of Critical AWS Resources. The AWS DevOps Blog discussed AWS Config: Checking for Compliance with New Managed Rule Options. We updated the AWS Schema Conversion Tool with Support for Copying and Optimization of Legacy Schemas. The AWS Compute Blog talked about Going Serverless: Migrating an Express Application to HAQM API Gateway and AWS Lambda. The AWS Partner Network Blog discussed Cloud-Based IAM for the Modern Enterprise with OneLogin. The AWS Startup Collection blog published part 2 of Serverless Architectures with Java 8, AWS Lambda, and HAQM DynamoDB. The AWS Government, Education, & Nonprofits Blog wrote about An Eye on Science: How Stanford Students Turned Classwork into Their Life’s Work. The AWS Big Data Blog talked about Building Event-Driven Batch Analytics on AWS.
Wednesday October 5	We announced that the VPC NAT Gateway is Now Available in the South America (São Paulo) Region. The AWS Security Blog invited you to Meet AWS Security Team Members at Grace Hopper 2016. The AWS Compute Blog talked about Optimizing Joining Windows Server Instances to a Domain with PowerShell in AWS CloudFormation. The Cloud Academy Blog wrote a post about Cloud computing impact on business. Spotinst shared a Case Study: PubNative decreases cost by 80% using Spotinst Elastigroups for their Mesos, Spark, ElasticSearch and Presto clusters.
Thursday October 6	We announced an IPv6 Support Update for CloudFront, WAF, and S3 Transfer Acceleration. We announced the new CloudWatch Plugin for collectd. We announced a CloudFormation Update with Improved Permission Controls, Cross-Stack Reference Enhancements, and Resource Coverage Updates. We announced Administrator Creation of Users in Your User Pools for HAQM Cognito. The AWS Government, Education, & Nonprofits Blog shared Whiteboard with an SA: AWS Direct Connect. The AWS Enterprise Blog shared Some Tips on Cloud Migration from the Accenture AWS Business Group. The AWS Big Data Blog explained How Eliza Corporation Moved Healthcare Data to the Cloud. J. Scott Johnson wrote some more about SSH failures and the diagnostic process when OpenSSH isn’t working. The Stelligent Blog wrote about Microservices Platform with ECS. Agari published a blog on how they use CloudHealth to measure AWS usage and spend. The Cloudability blog took a closer look at the new m4.16xlarge and the new P2 instance family from a cloud cost efficiency point of view. Botmetric shared 5Ws to Rule the HAQM EC2 World.
Friday October 7	The AWS Partner Network Blog shared The Case for Investing in Cloud Automation. The HAQM Mobile App Distribution Blog showed you how to Rapidly Create Your Alexa Skill Backend with AWS CloudFormation. We launched Snowball HDFS Import. The AWS Startup Collection showed you how to Discover Business Insights with Intel & AWS Big Data and to Unlock the True Potential of the Cloud with Intel and AWS IoT. cloudonaut.io wrote about Introducing the real-time data store: Kinesis Streams. Enrico Baioni wrote about statically host on AWs a minimal wordpress website, Scott Pletcher from Applexus wrote about Integrating SAP’s IDOC interface directly with AWS API Gateway and AWS Lambda. The Cloud Academy Blog talked about the Transit VPC. ParkMyCloud urged you to Tag Your Cloud Resources to Get Organized and Get Automated.
