Cost Optimizer for HAQM WorkSpaces 2.7 released

The Cost Optimizer for HAQM WorkSpaces is a tool that analyzes HAQM WorkSpaces usage data and can automatically convert the WorkSpace instance to the most cost-effective billing option depending on the individual usage. You can use the Cost Optimizer with a single account or with AWS Organizations across multiple accounts.

Today, we are pleased to announce the Cost Optimizer for HAQM WorkSpaces version 2.7 which includes numerous enhancements implemented based on direct customer feedback. Some of the new features include:

Enhanced performance metrics – The Cost Optimizer now reports on 6 additional performance metrics which include:

• InSessionLatency
• CPUUsage
• MemoryUsage
• RootVolumeDiskUsage
• UserVolumeDiskUsage
• UDPPacketLossRate

Private HAQM Elastic Container Registry (ECR) image – The Cost Optimizer now allows you to use a private HAQM ECR image (optional), removing the previous requirement that your VPC must allow internet access. This option supports customers deploying the solution to highly regulated environments where internet access is prohibited.
