Operationalizing SAS on AWS with the American College of Radiology
The American College of Radiology (ACR) is a nonprofit organization and world leader supporting the radiology community. Founded in 1923, ACR represents more than 41,000 diagnostic and interventional radiologists, radiation oncologists, nuclear medicine physicians, and medical physicists. In this post, we share how ACR implemented a Statistical Analysis System (SAS) solution on HAQM Web Services (AWS) to accomplish their big data processing and analysis needs, resulting in better cost optimization, performance improvements, and improved scalability.
AWS Verified Access in a TIC 3.0 architecture
Federal agencies can use HAQM Web Services (AWS) to meet Trusted Internet Connections (TIC) 3.0 requirements. To facilitate this, AWS has published detailed architectural overlays that demonstrate how to effectively implement TIC 3.0 guidelines within AWS deployments. AWS Verified Access (AVA) is a cloud-based service that enables secure access to applications without requiring the use of a virtual private network (VPN). It evaluates each application request and gives users access to each application only when they meet the specified security requirements. AVA supports TIC 3.0 requirements in the areas of configuration management, centralized log management, strong authentication features, resilience, and policy enforcement. Agile satellite communication ground systems with HAQM EC2 F2 FPGA solutions
In this post, we provide technical guidance to help satellite operators build, deploy, and analyze satcom waveforms on HAQM Web Services (AWS). Details are provided about the orchestration of multiple waveforms, including an example of one HAQM Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) Image being swapped in for another. We analyze the FPGA utilization and metrics in HAQM CloudWatch and HAQM QuickSight, and validate network performance against system latency requirements. Finally, we recommend actions you can take to build an agile satcom strategy.
39 new or updated datasets available on the Registry of Open Data on AWS
The AWS Open Data Sponsorship Program makes high-value, cloud-optimized datasets publicly available on HAQM Web Services (AWS). AWS works with data providers to democratize access to data by making it available to the public for analysis on AWS; develop new cloud-based techniques, formats, and tools that lower the cost of working with data; and encourage the development of communities that benefit from access to shared datasets. Through this program, customers are making over 100 petabytes (PB) of high-value, cloud-optimized data available for public use. This quarter, AWS released 39 new or updated datasets.
Building your first generative AI conversational experience on AWS
HAQM Web Services (AWS) offers a variety of options for building chat-based assistants with generative artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities. The goal of this post is to present in simple words some of these options and what to keep in mind to decide which to use and how to get started.
Stop Soldier Suicide partners with Pariveda, AWS on mission to reduce suicide rates among US service members and veterans
Because more than two-thirds of service members who die by suicide have no history of mental illness or suicidal ideation, Stop Soldier Suicide (SSS) started the Black Box Project in partnership with HAQM Web Services (AWS) Professional Services. Launched as an early prototype to identify data from devices of those lost to suicide, the project is an effort to gain better insight into the warning signs of suicide in veterans to help support suicide postvention, intervention, and ultimately prevention. Empowering the public sector with secure, governed generative AI experimentation
The Generative AI Sandbox on AWS, powered by HAQM Bedrock Studio, provides a secure, governed, and isolated environment for organizations to explore the power of large language models (LLMs) and other generative artificial intelligence capabilities. Bedrock Studio users can test different LLMs side by side to understand which ones best suit their specific use cases: from drafting policy documents to analyzing public feedback, or creating educational content.
Implementing a unified search platform for educational content on HAQM OpenSearch Service
This post discusses how HAQM Web Services (AWS) can help you set up a unified search platform for educational content using HAQM OpenSearch Service. HAQM OpenSearch Service is a managed service that makes it easy to deploy, operate, and scale OpenSearch clusters in the AWS Cloud. With digital learning becoming increasingly popular, managing a vast amount of educational data can be challenging. A unified search platform enables users to search across multiple indexes at once, providing a centralized view of all available resources.
Simplify satellite contact reporting with the AWS Ground Station contacts dashboard
This post shows how HAQM Web Services (AWS) Ground Station customers can start using the Contacts dashboard for AWS Ground Station solution to fulfill their AWS Ground Station reporting and tracking needs. This solution automatically maps AWS Ground Station contacts to their associated costs and provides a feature-rich dashboard reporting capability.
UNSW students build an all-electric race car with AWS
In 2023, the students from Redback Racing at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) wove together their many disciplines of engineering prowess to create their latest cars: RB23 and RB21-D. After developing and going live with their real-time telemetry system on HAQM Web Services (AWS), the team has placed as the highest-ranking Australian squad in the electric vehicle (EV) division of the Australasia Formula SAE competition, placing second overall.
