HAQM Web Services (AWS) is excited to announce that it is bringing its Skills to Jobs Tech Alliance Program to Thailand to develop emerging technology and cloud skill talent in support of Thailand’s digital transformation goals. AWS has trained more than 50,000 individuals in Thailand with cloud skills since 2017.

EDUCAUSE and the Shared Assessments working group collaborated with Internet2 and REN-ISAC, to create the Higher Education Community Vendor Assessment Toolkit (HECVAT). EDUCAUSE is a non-profit association committed to advancing the use of technology and data in higher education. The HECVAT is a third-party, vendor questionnaire framework designed for higher education institutions to evaluate the security and privacy posture of cloud and technology providers. It is intended to centralize vendor security and compliance information for ease of use. HAQM Web Services (AWS) now offers both the HECVAT Lite version and Full version to customers on-demand.

HAQM Bedrock is now generally available in the HAQM Web Services (AWS) Top Secret cloud. With authority to operate in the AWS Top Secret Cloud, HAQM Bedrock is providing U.S. Government customers with secure access to foundation models (FMs) and generative artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities within AWS’s classified environment.

HAQM Web Services (AWS) aims to democratize student access to qualifications that align with the requirements of the technology job market. In collaboration with employers and universities, AWS launched the Skills to Jobs Tech Alliance program in Brazil, which also connects students with employment opportunities. The AWS Open Data Sponsorship Program makes high-value, cloud-optimized datasets publicly available on HAQM Web Services (AWS). AWS works with data providers to democratize access to data by making it available to the public for analysis on AWS; develop new cloud-based techniques, formats, and tools that lower the cost of working with data; and encourage the development of communities that benefit from access to shared datasets. Through this program, customers are making over 100 petabytes (PB) of high-value, cloud-optimized data available for public use. This quarter, AWS released 39 new or updated datasets.

Satellite Resiliency for AWS Outposts offers a comprehensive, Partner-managed solution for resilient cloud-connected edge computing that extends the reach of HAQM Web Services (AWS) to the most remote and geographically dispersed environments on earth. AWS Outposts typically run connected to a parent AWS Region for resource management, access control, and software updates. When terrestrial network connectivity between an Outpost and its parent AWS Region is unavailable, this solution routes traffic back to the parent Region over a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite connection, supporting business continuity and data residency requirements.

In October 2024, at HAQM Web Services (AWS) Cloud Day Malaysia, the region’s AWS Skills to Jobs Tech Alliance was launched. In collaboration with the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), the Tech Alliance aims to modernize tech programs of study at Malaysian higher education institutions, connect learners to in-demand tech jobs, and support the development of a highly-skilled tech workforce.
