AWS Global Security and Compliance Acceleration initiative now supporting UK customers
Since its launch in June of 2019, the Authority to Operate on AWS (ATO on AWS) program has supported more than 300 US-based customers to meet their regulatory, security, and compliance requirements on AWS. To extend that support globally, HAQM Web Services (AWS) launched the Global Security and Compliance Acceleration (GSCA) initiative. The GSCA is now available to support customers in the United Kingdom (UK) and the European Union (EU).
Australian Bureau of Statistics runs 2021 Census on the AWS Cloud
Earlier this year, the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) ran the Australian Census, the agency’s most significant workload, on HAQM Web Services (AWS). The Census is the most comprehensive snapshot of the country, and includes around 10 million households and over 25 million people. With the COVID-19 pandemic causing lockdowns across the country, ABS needed a digital option for the Census that was accessible and reliable for millions of people. They turned to the cloud.
How Rockdale County improved operations and security with the cloud
After Rockdale County, Georgia was the victim of two cyber attacks, the jurisdiction turned to the cloud to strengthen the county’s security position. They worked with AWS Partner Tyler Technologies, Inc. to help with their migration, which not only enhanced data security and continuity of operations, but also reduced network downtime by 99 percent, while streamlining budgeting and reducing the IT staff’s burden.
Get help building your public sector business with APN Navigate
Now available for organizations and HAQM Web Services (AWS) Partners interested in expanding into the public sector: the APN Navigate Program. The APN Navigate Program expanded to offer dedicated tracks to help new and existing AWS Partners build a successful public sector practice. Called Public Sector Foundations, these tracks are open to all registered AWS Partners with the goal of helping them do business in the public sector and define their specialty to accelerate their route to market with AWS.
Announcing the 10 finalists for the inaugural AWS Clean Energy Accelerator program
We are happy to announce the selection of the 10 finalists and participants in the inaugural AWS Clean Energy Accelerator program. These ten companies were selected by a panel from AWS and Freshwater Advisors, from 218 applications received from 38 countries around the world. The applicants ranged from pre-revenue to $50M in annual revenue and from 1 to more than 500 employees.

CEU Universities in Spain join AWS Partners to skill next generation of cloud experts
CEU Universities launched the first cloud computing program in Spain, in collaboration with AWS, to create pathways for students into cloud technology careers. CEU is working with key organizations as part of an initiative called CEU Tech 4 Good to develop student talent through mentoring sessions and internships. This hands-on experience will help prepare students to pursue cloud-related job opportunities when an AWS Region opens in Spain in late 2022 or early 2023.
Enabling remote education in Guatemala with scalable learning platform Mineduc Digital
AWS Partner ITZ Data, with support from UNICEF and the Canadian Embassy in Guatemala, helped Ministerio de Educación de Guatemala launch Mineduc Digital—the country’s first online platform where students can access digital self-study guides from any device connected to the internet. The Ministry implemented the solution in less than two months, paving the way for the digital transformation of their education system. The solution was built on AWS.
The value of partner integration: Esri, HERE Technologies, and HAQM Location Service
At re:Invent 2020, AWS announced the release of HAQM Location Service in preview. The fully managed service helps developers add location data to their applications while maintaining data security and user privacy. HAQM Location Service integrates data sources and services from AWS Partners Esri and HERE. AWS built HAQM Location Service to help users access high-quality global data from these longtime, trusted, geospatial location data providers.
