AWS Storage sessions at AWS re:Invent 2020-2021: Week 4

AWS re:Invent 2020-2021 kicked off in December 2020 as a free, multiple-week virtual conference (don’t forget to register), running from November 30 to December 18, 2020, and January 12 to January 14, 2021. While Las Vegas has been re:Invent’s home for years, we are excited to keep the re:Invent tradition going in this virtual format as we adapt to the current events climate. With over 500 total sessions, registering today, if you haven’t already, is the easiest way to make sure you have access to all that’s new with AWS over the course of the event.

AWS Storage has 36 incredible re:Invent sessions lined up this re:Invent, including the Storage Leadership session with Mai-Lan Tomsen Bukovec – VP, Block and Object Storage – from week 1. Sessions offer you the opportunity to hear from cloud experts and leaders on services and solutions, in addition to pumping out information on what’s new around AWS and AWS Storage. Bookmarking and/or registering to sessions is a good way to make sure you do not miss anything, but the sessions are also available on-demand after they first air.

HAQM EFS delivers highly available and highly durable file systems that are distributed across an unconstrained number of storage servers, enabling massively parallel access. This means that highly parallelized workloads can drive high levels of aggregate throughput and operations per second. In this session, learn best practices for leveraging this distributed data-storage design. Learn to select the appropriate performance and throughput mode as well as best practices for configuring clients, ingesting data, and monitoring performance.

On 11/9 (11 9’s of durability day!) we had more than 20 launches across the storage portfolio, and many of our customers have use cases that could potentially benefit from some of those updates. This blog channel also has 6 blog posts for AWS Storage Day – highlighting launches for HAQM EFS, AWS Backup, AWS Transfer Family, AWS Storage Gateway, and HAQM S3. Then, on November 18, we introduced HAQM S3 Storage Lens, the first cloud storage analytics solution with support for AWS Organizations to give you organization-wide visibility into object storage, dashboards with point-in-time metrics and trend lines as well as actionable recommendations.
