Today, we cut the ribbon on our first international AWS Skills Center in Cape Town, South Africa, furthering our mission to remove the barriers of access to cloud skills training. The center is designed to deliver free training that helps nontechnical learners build new cloud skills and unlock career options for in-demand tech jobs.

TCS requires its entry-level associates to be AWS Certified before it deploys them to projects. Because of this entry criterion, it can take 2–3 months to deploy entry-level associates to projects after onboarding. In July, we released 52 digital training products on AWS Skill Builder, including AWS Industry Quest: Healthcare, AWS Cloud Quest: Networking, 19 AWS Builder Labs, and new exam prep for AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner and AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional. For c-suite executives, explore courses to help you build knowledge of the capabilities of cloud. We also have two new trainings exclusive to AWS Partners in sales roles.

AWS Training and Certification and AWS Enterprise Strategists have developed a collection of digital training to provide a high-level picture of the benefits of cloud computing to c-suite leaders and executives in business or technology roles. These short, snackable videos feature AWS Enterprise Strategists Jake Burns, Chris Hennessy, and Clarke Rodgers guiding leaders through the must-know information to build their business with cloud.

In May and June 2023, we released 5 digital training products on AWS Skill Builder, including a sustainability course, a new AWS Builder Lab to configure VPC Traffic Monitoring, an updated AWS Certified Security – Specialty Official Practice Exam, and AWS Cloud Quest Tournaments. We also have a new guide to help you plan your AWS Certification path, and a new AWS Migration Essentials classroom course.

In 2018 the idea of earning all 12 AWS Certifications probably wouldn’t have crossed Ian Butler’s mind. But after a combination of his company’s accelerating cloud journey, the COVID-19 lockdown, his own ambition, and a newfound passion for training others, Butler, a Cloud Capability Lead for ANZ, now finds himself an enthusiastic AWS developer, having passed all 12 AWS Certifications over a two-year period.

Just yesterday, Chouaieb Nemri passed his 12th AWS Certification, which means he now has every certification currently offered by AWS–an achievement shared with a limited number of individuals. Even more remarkably, Chouaieb completed his previous 10 certifications in the span of a single year. Chouaieb suffers from a rare and severe form of muscular dystrophy, which significantly compromises his ability to move. To hear Chouaieb tell it, however, he was able to achieve these amazing technical feats not so much despite his disability but because of it.

We are updating the AWS Certified Security – Specialty exam, and learners who complete all 12 assignments in AWS Cloud Quest: Cloud Practitioner can earn a 25% off exam voucher for AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner.
