Appgate SDP, an industry-leading Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) solution, puts your people first with simple, fast, secure connections to multi-cloud, on-prem, or legacy applications from anywhere. Appgate SDP is a direct-routed, cloud-native, API-enabled solution that delivers valuable security, efficiency, and user experience benefits while adhering to stringent Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) ZeroTrust guidelines. Each user has a one-to-one encrypted network segment to each resource explicitly granted to the user. Developers enjoy concurrent and automated access to multiple disparate environments without waiting for manual access approvals. Admins can easily ensure that users have access to necessary resources, regardless of physical location or virtual segmentation. Entitlements dynamically change based on user, device, and system context, such as AWS tags. The Appgate SDP paid version comes with a 15-day Free Trial. The Appgate SDP paid version includes a 25-user license and should be deployed as a single standalone SDP appliance. Hourly and Annual subscriptions to this product are available in the AWS Marketplace. Annual subscriptions provide a 10 percent savings compared to running the same product hourly for extended periods. What do you like best about the product?
Appgate is very powerful but still very flexible. You can deploy it in several different ways and cover any scenario. You can protect any type of device or Software, from servers and IOT devices to SaaS platforms.
You have total control of the solution reducing the need to trust 3rd parties when it comes to security or availability.
You can also integrate with several identity providers and log tools, giving you total control of the solution and also allowing you to integrate with solutions that you already use.

What do you dislike about the product?
With great power comes great responsibility. The fact that you don't need to trust a 3rd party makes you responsible to upgrade your appliances, you have to spend some time planning and executing the upgrades once in a while.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The very first problem it solves is replacing the old and unsecure VPN solutions. Nowadays PCI and cyber insurance scans will complain if you have an active VPN in place. Appgate allows you to keep your remote access capabilities without giving up on security.
The second problem is securing SaaS platforms like Microsoft 365. SaaS platforms are a constant target to still emails and personal information, with Appgate you can restrict the access making unauthorized access virtually impossible.

What do you like best about the product?
AppGate is highly advanced and offers multiple integration options, such as with an external SIEM integration system. It also comes with extensive documentation, and the configuration process is not particularly challenging. There is an option to enable two-factor authentication for both end users and administrators accessing the panel. It allows for setting various policies for individual users as well as the entire organization, providing flexibility for companies. Additionally, the end-user experience is extremely simple and requires virtually no interaction beyond logging in. The support from the manufacturer, not only during the initial configuration but also throughout further usage, is incredibly professional and reliable.
What do you dislike about the product?
As of today, after using this solution for a long time, I do not see any drawbacks worth mentioning.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
AppGate definitely helps us solve the problem of secure access to various types of resources as well as the organization's internal infrastructure.

Easy Path to Zero Trust

What do you like best about the product?
It sets the foundation for Zero Trust ingress, you still have some homework to do for Zero Trust throughout your Enterprise, but its a great start.
What do you dislike about the product?
Its sort of the nature of an SDP Ingress, complex setup and you could talk to 5 differerent tech support staff and get 2-3 different answers, but their all valid answers, just different ways to implement. It gets you there, you just have to really learn Appgate in your environement well so you get the result you want. This is not drop in Zero Trust.

What do you like best about the product?
Appgate SDP is a great product, a real ZTNA solution with true implementation of LPA (least privileged access) and JITA (just in time access)
What do you dislike about the product?
Everything is great about this product, I didn't really found any downsides or have anything to dislike. One thing to mention - we have experienced some issues with users connecting from CGNAT networks - the SPA technology and mutual TLS sometimes doesn't work with these providers over IPv4 connection. The solution was using IPv6 which works out of the box with Appgate.

Provide company users with secured and reliable access to the services and resources they need to have access for doing their job.

Admin and User friendly ZTNA

What do you like best about the product?
While providing extremely secure network access, it is also very friendly to use for both Admins in configuration and users for access. Appgate is also a favorite vendor of mine because of their scheduled monthly follow up meetings. I wish all vendors did this. Most of the time they are very quick, nothing to report from our end, but even on those it gives me a chance to find out latest features, or triggers something in my past month that I have as a question. The product is great, but the customer service puts them over the top.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only negative thing I would say is I wish there were template/defaults during the initial setup, expansion. You have to configure access to IP/Ports and I would think there would be some standard templates for things like Print Servers, Windows File Servers, etc. - but we had to trial/error some things. Appgate was great at helping me through this, but I wish there were some templates to have more confidence we got it 100%.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This is much easier/better for our users over a traditional VPN client. It is also much more granular security than a VPN Client.
