Big data simplified - Teradata
What do you like best about the product?
Teradata is the tool to use when you have very huge databases to query. We were handling the largest retail data in the world and were facing issues in querying from this data. With teradata, we could query in SQL and get tome to time reports.
One more important thing is the data is well indexed which makes querying much faster.

What do you dislike about the product?
One major lacking is not being able to build complex models without having to query a lot. Most other systems started having this feature, Teradata needs to improve in this aspect. Also, small organisations cannot afford something like this - only those with deep pockets where querying TBs of data makes business impact, will have a positive impact.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are a bit retailer, with multiple stores across various geographies. To track metrics for this kind of data could not have been possible if not for teradata.

Definitely a go for companies wanting to make sense out of their of big data,

World class data warehouse

Built in parallel architecture. Incredible compression. Clever virtual storage. Number cruncher. Good service offerings
What do you dislike about the product?
When you get it wrong you get it horribly wrong. Some features are still lacking. Sql assistant is years behind, even the java one
