The Firewall of Choice!
What do you like best about the product?
WatchGuard's Management Interface is unbeatable - It's simple to use and highly comprehensive.
I've been recommending WatchGuard's to clients for the past 10 years, and even use their solutions at home.

What do you dislike about the product?
Please don't phase out the Watchguard System Manager. It's great.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using WatchGuard technologies, we have complete control over our client's network and have all the necessary protection we need to keep them safe from the bad guys.

Excellent package for network security
What do you like best about the product?
Excellent cloud logging/reporting service included, and SNI matching on inbound HTTPS proxy is very useful for conserving IP addresses.
What do you dislike about the product?
On occasion we have had issues with things getting blocked (false positives) which have needed an exception added.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is one layer in our protection against malware, viruses, phishing attempts.
Powerful security solution
What do you like best about the product?
Watchguard is a powerful security solution, encompassing many aspects to keep your network safe. It has granular level control and although it can take a while to initially set up to its full capabilities, once complete it needs little maintenance.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be nice to have better logs for troubleshooting. Can be very hard to find why a website isn't loading correctly for a user; it would be nice if it could list all the reasons (scripts blocked, content or website filtered due to these rules etc.)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping network safe and secure with minimal IT department input beyond initial setup. Allowing users to access only work-related sites and reducing the chance of phishing attacks.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you allocate plenty of time for initial setup
Good firewall, good service, nothing to envy to more expensive solutions.

Features, stability, customer support, and all of this for the best cost possible with outstanding throughput cost relation compared with its competitors.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't think of something I don't like from WatchGuard. I'm pleased with the solution.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are securing all of our VLANs. Internet surfing with DNS security. UTM. Antimalware. Integrated with AD. Services publishing. SSL VPN for providers and employees. SDWAN. Multifactor Authentication, etc.
The benefit is that with much less investment than other brands, we are applying a high level of security to our network, supporting all of our traffic, internal and external.

Don't think about brands; all of them are doing security. Compare throughput and cost, try Watchguard, then decide.

I like the speed of the appliances, the reliability, features they provide.
Easy of management , simplicity of configuration by the classical web interface and a more powerfull dedicated program WSM

Watchguard helped us to protect Customers Internal Networks, their mail server from spam and filter the websites allowed for browsing

- Intergration with AD requires enhancement and SSO at times doesnt function as expected.

-IPSec VPN connectivity with branch offices is stable and convenient even in a mixed FW environment. SDWAN is even brilliant and easy to setup.

Routing, VPN and network security. Watchguard Network Security solves them with great reliability.

I need more reporting and better debugging, especially when I have a lot of internet traffic.

I like that I can access all our products from one dashboard.

I've not yet discovered any downsides or dislikes.

My business utilizes UTM. We block certain attachments from being transmitted via email, we stop and flag spoof emails attempting to impersonate key management, we filter tens of thousands of spam emails each month, sandboxing attachments, manage network traffic, IPSEC VPNs, and BOVPNs.
Understandable support...
What do you like best about the product?
With current business climate service providers are always looking for revenue growth and cost reductions. Some like Watchguard recognize that without the existing customer every month starts at zero(0). When I call for support, I don't need another obstacle to the solution. I am not only assured that I will connect with a good communicator (clearly spoken and understandable in my language) but that the rep I'm talking with actually listens and understands their product enough to know of a solution.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would prefer to have more video demos of install/configurations, but with the support that is available that is a minor inconvenience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have seen improvements in network performance with directly addressing prioritized traffic through policy based rules.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Intuitive for the most part once logged in. Very important to understand the differing logins and which is applicable to what (I had problems and still struggle with this from time to time)
