A very powerful, user friendly and modern BI tool
What do you like best about the product?
We have been using Sisense for the last 2 yers now and it has transformed the reporting capability within our business. We use it embedded inside our product so our clients can understand their own data.
We also use it internally not only for management reporting, but also to aid our operations team to manage their day to day tasks. Its really simple and intuitive for non-techies to use.
The great thing is the business now own the reporting and not IT
Linking to our existing SQL databases works like a charm and we can have a mixture of cached and live cubes, depending on the frequency of change.
It has great choice of data visualization options availables which look really smart and the filtering and drilldown capabilities are really helpful for users to
gain valuable insight in the data.
Sisense provide great online support and training videos and the account management/support team are really good.
The embbeding into our cloud solution using both Single Sign-on and with our bespoke data security requirements was a challenge but we got there in the end. We are also using the Sisense.JS library
as well to embed individual widgets into our web pages.
I really like the fact that the company is always striving to improve the product with a number of new features added all the time.

What do you dislike about the product?
Dashboards can sometimes take a long time to load and our environment can occastionally lock up, requiring a restart of the environment on the server
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sisense allows us to bring all our data together in one place. It allows allows our business users to support our customers needs on a day to day basis. They "own" the product. They build the reports. No more IT involvement.
Sisense allowed us to transform what was previously a static / historical look back at how customers performed over the last quarter. This is too late to act on anything. Now we have realtime dashboards that the end users can run whenever they want and we have created Pulses to alert people when something important happens.
Internally this has also allowed our business to get a better understanding of the business , both financially and from an operational point of view. We also use this as an operational reporting tool to assist our customer success team to do their job
We are so happy with Sisense, when we recently purchased another company, we have now bought a second Sisense environment and are migrating them away from PowerBI as it is easier to use, and costs a lot less

Recommendations to others considering the product:
We compared Sisense to other leading BI vendors and choose Sisense as Its really simple and intuitive to use, connects to all our data so we can seamlessly report on this and the company continue to add new features.

What do you dislike about the product?
Basic widgets (like date filter) should be available out of the box (OOTB) in Sisense, and it should not force us to use community plugins or any commercial plugins.
Detect many-to-many relationships early (proactively) and suggest report designers help to avoid unnecessary data issues (including performance issues).
Performance and scalability issues, also should present the numbers from their tests done.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Intergrated dashboards within our own application.
The perfect BI solution for Contact Centers
What do you like best about the product?
Sisense is an excellent tool for Business Intelligence. What I like more is the continuous work of the R&D team to improve the stability and the feature provided, with monthly version updates. Besides that, we have a fantastic customer success manager that helps us with the integration and keeps us informed about new releases, and helps to address any issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sisense is not entirely ready to be a multi-tenant software, but the R&D team is also working in that way.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Enghouse is a Contact Center software provider, and with Sisense, we want to enrich our offer with a tool to analyze all data coming from Contact Centers. We have found out Sisense is an excellent tool for making this task easy.

What do you dislike about the product?
Granular access controls don't exist for our team to restrict sensitive information.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Overall biz intellgience
Great for analytics
What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to create dashboards for quick essential metrics. We also have monitoring & alerting set up.
It connects to our DBs pretty quickly, and we can query them to figure out anything related to an incident.
It connects to our DBs pretty quickly, and we can query them to figure out anything related to an incident.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's a lot of tooling which can be hidden. It's a bit annoying to figure out which reports and dashboards you care about since everyone has access to it and by default makes them public even if you want to just do a couple quick queries for your own project.
Sometimes it doesn't save the queries you're working on.
Sometimes it's a bit slow when doing complicated queries & then times out.
Sometimes reports have stale data & for some reason weren't updated in weeks, even though we have a setting to say it should refresh every day.
If we make DB changes, it would be nice to get an email to the owner or users when dashboards break.
If an owner leaves the company, it would be nice to force them to choose a new owner (defaulting to their manager).

We use this for analytics. The benefits are that it's easy to use, create dashboards, and query DB. We also have set up alerting and monitoring for some things. It does integrate with pagerduty pretty well. The tech team can create dashboards very quickly for the product & business teams.
Visualizations for the non technical user
What do you like best about the product?
Sisense makes it easy to create visualizations and dashboards without being technical or knowing any coding languages. You can create filters that will apply across all widgets and there are several visualizations that can be used out of the box without the need to code. There are many useful API's and dashboards can easily be embedded into iframes. Ingestion of data can be automated or set to run on a schedule and alerting can be set up. Visualizations can be downloaded as a pdf or image. Additionally, end users can drill down on visualizations for more details, or they can add new dimensions to the existing chart.
What do you dislike about the product?
When a large number of tables are imported, designing dashboards can become more complex. It can be hard to find the correct field to use, especially when several fields are named the same way. Additionally, charts will not be accurate if a many to many relationship is created. Complexity really depends on your use case and the type of data you are bringing into Sisense.
It is not easy to make dashboard thats are publicly available for anyone. Embedding a dashboard means, that the user needs to have a Sisense account to view the dashboard, unless specifically set up for public usage.
Data modelling requires knowledge of your data. Additional visualizations can downloaded as a plugin or created, but some visualizations are an additional cost item.

We are easily able to make the most of our data. We can create dashboards easily that can be embedded into our intranet. End-users can use these dashboards to do their own data analysis. We save time developing reports, and we do not need developers to facilitate with the creation of reports.
Visualizations are becautiful and allow you to tell a story. They are also interactive meaning, that they provide a three dimenional view of your data.
We also can bring in data from multiple sources and mash them together. This allows Sisense to be our one stop shop for data analytics.
