Ability to aggregate data from multiple systems and clients to show trends and gain valuable insights to share with clients.

We'll See What Periscope Can Bring
What do you like best about the product?
Sisense's customization has proven to be quite useful for us. Accessing the javascript API has allowed us to satisfy some nuanced customer requests and also build in some "personalization" for each customer dashboard. We've also developed some custom widgets that are used often. I'm anxious to see what Periscope brings when they fully integrate.
What do you dislike about the product?
In my opinion, the customization comes at the expense of what is seemingly basic functionality that should be available in a BI app. Custom sorting shouldn't only be available via a custom script. Showing additional tooltips shouldn't only be available after downloading a plugin and deploying it on the server. Javascript is not a common skill amongst analysts (whereas Python and R are common skills), so it's not reasonable to expect that the API will be a value-add to a team of analysts.
Additionally, the Elasticube model (at least for us) is somewhat rigid. New custom columns can't be created on the fly, they need to be created in the cube and the rebuilt. The problem is, only admins can alter the cube, not designers, even though admins will typically be whoever is managing the server (system admin, data architect, etc.) and designers will be analysts. Forcing analysts to request engineering time for something as simple as creating a custom column is inefficient.
To summarize, it seems like Sisense was built with the developer/engineer in mind first, not the analyst.

We collect data for our customers and deliver it to them via raw data delivery or a curated dashboard showing insights. It's not really a "problem-solving" tool for us as much as it is a data delivery tool. The goal is to deliver that data in such a way that it helps our customers realize the value of what we're doing for them. The benefit is that we're able to create these dashboards quite quickly and for the most part our customers like what they see.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do your homework and make sure you thoroughly trial/test it with analysts who will be designing/building the dashboards. The customization via javascript seems like a value-add, but if you don't have the resources to actually take advantage of it then it doesn't really help you. Keep in mind this may all be moot once Periscope is fully integrated.
Great system - you get what you pay for
What do you like best about the product?
Sisense high end toolsets to evaluate complex datasets, integrate data sources and create cubes that give you what you need in a flexible and well thought out way.
What do you dislike about the product?
Price is high if need is simple, however if you are looking for a robust system and will use it in depth, the system is great.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Business and operational analytics in healthcare environments.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Sisense high end toolsets to evaluate complex datasets, integrate data sources and create cubes that give you what you need in a flexible and well thought out way. If you use it to the fullest potential, the price is worth it, but if you need a simple toolset and won't use it as much, the price may be too high.
Such valuable info presented in an easy to read, pretty display!
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ease of use and ability to drill deeper and/or filter relevant information with just a few clicks.
What do you dislike about the product?
Those with limited knowledge can access Sisense but can’t necessarily do the initial or ongoing setup.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It may be how we have it set up but we’ve found that information sometimes disappears. It’s also kind of a pain when you have to use a unique email address (we use it for all different clients).
Excellent Experience

What do you dislike about the product?
Improve out of the Box Visualization capabilities .
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Centralised Analytical framework. Great flexibility to design the Applications.
Excellent performance on large datasets
What do you like best about the product?
Benchmarking Sisense against competing products demonstrated that Sisense performed much better with very large datasets. The ease of embedding widgets into web applications has also been helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Earlier rollouts of new releases could have gone smoother, but we have seen a big improvement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are creating internal dashboards and also embedding analytics into external-facing web applications. A large benefit for us is the ability to handle very large datasets.
Great experience. Very easy and intuitive to use.
What do you like best about the product?
The cube building is easy and data integration is smooth. Embedding is great too.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is no easy print process for embedded dashboard.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Display data in friendly way to users (external and internal)
Best in Class
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of implantation and integration with other core systems
What do you dislike about the product?
Maybe more training contents and libraries to be provided to ensure it reaches the mass
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The idea behind this is to know about the automation insights and how my entire RPA program is yielding the results. On top of this their are operations and process matrix to provide business intelligence
Moving to Sisense
What do you like best about the product?
The Customer Support and the Implementation teams have been wonderful. They really want us to succeed in using their product successfully.
What do you dislike about the product?
Their API documentation leaves something to be desired.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are trying to turn our internal program teams onto the idea that a dashboard is a much better way of viewing data than looking at hundreds or thousands of rows of an Excel sheet. The user interface of Sisense is very intuitive and has helped drive this effort home to our user base.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be sure to obtain recordings of or record all sessions with the implementation teams. You will need to review when Sisense quits working.
