Flexible BI tool
What do you like best about the product?
It is fairly easy to set up basic cubes (data stores) and publish dashboards. The capability to create complex query environment is there, though it frequently takes reasonably advanced SQL skills to accomplish this. Sisense support is responsive and skilled.
What do you dislike about the product?
Dashboards (user interface) can have performance issues with moderate levels of data or complexity, and basic functionality like scrolling and filtering are not always easy to use. Non-designer/admin users have very limited ability to affect dashboards, as they can't add filters that are not published by a designer and can't really hide or add fields unless drill downs are used.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has been useful as a platform to centralize reporting and eliminate many separate Excel based reports that were often manually produced. It also helps us to overcome most of the limitation of standard Salesforce reporting.

Having the ability to access and consolidate pretty much any data source type that exists (database services, API's, etc.)
What do you dislike about the product?
If there's a data source that does not have a Sisense data connector already created, creating a custom data connector can be a very cumbersome process and is not guaranteed to work. Chances are you'll have to step through some troubleshooting before getting it to work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having the ability to track several important data points in the student journey allows us to see what we can improve on in the classroom and internally at our company.

Periscope data is easy to use and the queries are fast performing

There currently isn't a way to easily run multiple queries at once

What do you like best about the product?

What do you like best about the product?
Intuitive layout, fast, I have never witnessed a glitch of any sort. My analysts can get me a new dash built to spec within minutes. I love that I can share given dashes directly with our partners, so we're seeing the same data.
What do you dislike about the product?
If my analysts are not being diligent, the dashboards can clutter up with out of date views, and it's hard or impossible for me to tell whether they're still working or not.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Periscope to visualize our own data gathering running on Google BigQuery. We use daily dashboards for keeping an eye on the pulse, separate dashes for trends, and then build custom dashes whenever we've identified a specific problem or opportunity we're investigating. Often the longtime trends show a possibility we want to observe over a longer time, which would be impossible to keep an eye on without easy visualization.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I don't have enough information on the workflow to contribute here. As an end user, I am very content.
Ease of dashboard and report creation for Company KPIs
What do you like best about the product?
With our dashboards, we need to have reports shareable across various departments and external users with specific permissions in place so certain groups/users only view their data. Data security and group management features are indispensable and solve this problem.
Dashboard and report creation is simple to do. We like how we can filter items inside formula on the UI and the drag and drop JOIN feature in the cube schema editor is great.

ETL can be slow with very large data sets during builds. There are some limitations to creating custom fields within a widget/report. The UI interface to access and make changes to data sources is not reliable.

There’s no straightforward way to check the data in a cube without having to create either *(1) a dashboard* or *(2) custom SQL expression* or (3) way to directly search inside the columns of the data for particular values.
Moving dashboards between folders is cumbersome - you cannot move a dashboard you own to a folder you do not own.

A Powerful and Innovative Business Intelligence Tool
What do you like best about the product?
The user interface is something our clients really appreciate. It is easy to use, and even the less technical team members at my company are able to create different widgets with ease. Additionally, the embedded analytics offerings are an added benefit, and have certainly become increasingly interesting to our clients.
What do you dislike about the product?
PDF printing is usually formatted incorrectly, which typically limits our use of the feature. Additionally, expanded capability for the web-based Elasticube would be helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sisense has been able to condense a number of our client's daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports into a single dashboard with only a handful of widgets. The ability to drill dynamically into a visualization makes it easy to answer many business questions with only 1 widget.

Attend the annual conference and watch the webinars/read support content to get the full use of the platform.
Almost perfect tool
What do you like best about the product?
Use sql to build charts, intergrate with python for more functionality. Simple UI. Quick chart setup and dashbording

Refresh, caching takes too long or never. No drill down. Data explorer very slow in building the query charts. Run code button not floating have to scroll down if long query. Limited python modules. No custom time setting of reloading data

Excellent Product With Quirky Formatting. Outstanding On Boarding And Support Teams
What do you like best about the product?
Sisense has proven to be an excellent BI platform for us. While some formatting requires custom scripting the customer support and development teams have done an excellent job of providing support and incorporating suggestion into the roadmap. They listen!!! The onboarding process for any product is usually dependent on the onboarding team... and our Sisense BI Consultant (included with the product) was excellent. In addition to being intimately familiar with the product, he was also well versed in various data modeling techniques.
What do you dislike about the product?
Formatting and functionality that you might assume to be built in the front end actually requires custom scripting. Prefer Sisense address this gap in future versions.

Internal customer scorecard solution with mobile capabilities.

Great support services! This means fast response times and much quicker ramp up/training
