Using Sisense for product development
What do you like best about the product?
Simplicity of usage and full stack capabilities. It is very easy and quickly to go through the whole process from data import to Dashboards publishing. It is easy to create data model and combine data from different data sources. Also Custom SQL queries gives possibility to make data transformations. Dashboards creation is very quick and simple but also gives possibility to make advanced formulas and calculations.
What do you dislike about the product?
Price and absence of the timeline of the new features development. Elasticube is hard to drag and navigate when many tables are added. It is hard to move and rearrange data tables by dragging them. Also it is very easy to break the dashboard if any changes of fields names are done in elasticube and Sisense is not alerting about possible issues when filed is used in calculations. Also, when there is need to replace some data field on another for the whole dashboard, there is no easy way to do this in batch, you just need to go and manually change it in each widget and formula.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Performance measure visualization for monitoring. Data consolidation - when structure of the data is the same in different files. Speed of development is great advantage. Also Sisense provide flexibility to adjust data model easily and develop it further as time goes and changes needed. It is easy to switch to another data source if needed and keep the model structure.

Great Analytics Tool. Easy to write charts, tables, and other visualizations.
What do you like best about the product?
This tool has made it easy to write the visualizations that need to be surfaced to stake-holders. I especially like the fact that you write a SQL query and the data for the visualization is derived from the query results. This has made our business intelligence so much more flexible than if we could only specify a table.
With other BI tools, you have to specify a table and if you want to limit the rows retrieve and do a join, there is a series of drop downs to deal with. That approach would slow us down sooo much so I am glad that we are not bound by it in Periscope.

What do you dislike about the product?
The options with regards to some visualizations are a little limited. With the addition of plotly and other tools, this is being mitigated. However I think there may be some visualization features available on other BI tools that are not on Periscope.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it to surface analytics reports for the various reporting needs of our organization. Because it is doing direct queries, the reports update in real-time.

No learning curve! Easy to get started, unlike other BI tools we evaluated

What do you like best about the product?
Periscope provides you with with the data you need. It helps a lot in terms of pulling up data really fast whenever you need it. Pretty reliable and easy to understand.
What do you dislike about the product?
Personally I'm a very visual person, so I guess the freedom to customise the way your dashboard would look like in terms of colour is very limited.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Quick data in terms of client based activities. I work a lot in operations and it works wonders!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It looks intimidating at first but once you get the hang of it, it'll be like clockwork.

One of the user friendly BI tools I have worked with. Easily works in combination of different types of sources. Helpful customer support.
What do you dislike about the product?
it would be helpful if the errors messages had a little more detail.

Populating useful KPIs and insights that are very beneficial for business decisions of our company.

what I like the best is the possibility to select only one advertiser or year once the graph is created

the procedure to enter the data as once you enter the first Excel , the upcoming ones have to have the same number of columns etc...

What do you like best about the product?
The tool is very user friendly, which allows us to provide access to our customers without having to spend a large amount of time on training. It also has great dill down functionality which significantly reduces the amount for time needed to answer any questions about what is driving a spike in the data.
What do you dislike about the product?
While there are still a few restrictions on certain types of calculations, there is more than enough to be able to provide insightful analytics. In addition, I would like to see some additional 'built in' widgets, instead of having to rely on third party plug ins.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The tool has provided our company with a flexible tool that provides enhanced dashboards, along with a centralized location to pull ad hoc reporting. In addition to saving us time, it has allowed us to identify important trends and metrics in much less time than it would have taken using the traditional spreadsheet approach.
Great tool for analysing the main insights about client's competence
What do you like best about the product?
Regarding the dashboard, I really appreciate the easy way to create different kinds of graphics depending on the information that we want to share. Also, the option to duplicate a file or a single widget makes the work easier and faster. It’s a great point that we can organise the dashboard with as many files as we want to.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to see more variety of designs in the dashboard in relation to the titles and their typography.

We can analyse the global business environment of the client in an easy and clear way, and it's a good way to detect the key insights of the client and the competitive sector.
Highly flexibility in dashboard design
What do you like best about the product?
Sisense allows user to create and design a lot of customized scripts. from widget level to calculated field level. which provides a much higher customization that meets specific needs for the users.
What do you dislike about the product?
Despite a high flexibilities on the widgets and looks, Sisense is unable to perform a grouping in pivot table, which is roll up or roll down that is available for most BI tools, It has a group by function but we cannot create expend and collapse field in it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are transforming from a fixed period, low interactive excel reporting to a dynamitc 24/7 and interactive business reporting/
Sisense Review
What do you like best about the product?
I like the easy ability to drill down through a bar chart by any reason allowing me to stay within the same widget while getting to the source of any intuitions I have.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like a couple things. 1st is the loss of functionality with the Break By feature. You lose the ability to sort bar charts from ascending to descending and you lose the ability to chart with two y-axes. I also do not like how when you first open Sisense, there is a different UI than when you use advanced configuration. It makes people get lost because they are not sure what they are creating in the original UI. I also wish there was the ability to select more than 1 fields at the same time for example when adding values. I want to be able to add all the values I wish at once by clicking a check box next to the fields in the pop out box.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are allowing businesses to do analytics on their manufacturing metric data. This allows them to compare external and internal factors and do additional statistical analysis to get to a better root cause.
Great Product for Business Insight and Intelligence - Great for Data Modelling
What do you like best about the product?
Sisense is really easy to use. I have been using it since May 2018. At the end of the second month using this product, My first data model, as well as my first set of dashboards were in production. Sisense customer support provided instrumental support during the very early stages of the implementation of this product. Customer support has been amazing and supportive. Regardless your background, they will do their best to help you solve your problems.
What do you dislike about the product?
Pulse messages are not helpful at providing additional information about the issues occurring in our cubes. Certain connectors require more resources, which may impact the stability of the data cubes. Capabilities like sorting graphs need scripts, while other alternatives just requires clicking on the graph.
