Datadome made it possible to block robot traffic on our clients' sites. We had tried to develop internal tools without success. With the implementation of Datadome, we were able to focus on our core business while knowing our servers were secure.

Until now we do not have any complain regarding services provided by Datadome.

We provide internet booking engines for our customers and our server resources were partly used by bots.

What do you like best about the product?

Datadome uses the experience acquired from all of their clients to provide each client with an always up-to-date configuration. This saves us from having too much administration on our side (customer). The Datadome system also allows us to reduce the infrastructure because client navigation deemed "bad" does not reach the web server. Thanks Datadome!

The custom rule query can be complex to use and cause slowness, but once mastered, it is no longer a problem.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Datadome easily detects bad robots, allowing for a less expensive infrastructure. And also allows you to control the crawlers that you want to authorize or not.

- The implementation has been made using a few lines of codes.
- We appreciate both the aggregated graphs and the detailed reports provided. Transparency is key for our business.
- It does work as advertised!

What do you dislike about the product?

No so much to say here. It seems costly, but it is really worth it. It is very hard to compare multiple bot solutions, but you get what you pay for – in this case, it’s unparalleled protection!

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Bots were interacting with our system in an unpleasant way, causing many issues. We wanted to ditch all of those fake actions, and this is where DataDome comes into play. Since implementing DataDome, we can rest easy knowing we are protected against bots and the fraud they perpetrate.

What do you like best about the product?

Compared to other competitors, DataDome's documentation is very thorough, well written and contains everything you need in order to get you started. The support team is very responsive and professional (most of the technical questions we had were answered during the initial call).
The initial setup was very fast, it only took a few hours for configurations, followed by a few days of traffic analysing with help from the support team.
I also like the way Datadome integrates with your existing infrastructure:
- Server-side integrations (Cloudflare, Akamai, Fastly, HAProxy, Varnish, Nginx, Apache, etc. )
- Client-side integrations (Javascript, Android SDK, iOS SDK, etc.).

What do you dislike about the product?

I would like to be able to send all data in a monitoring/alerting platform such as Datadog/Splunk (currently not supported for our setup).
The pricing model is too strict: if you only need a single feature from a higher plan the only way of doing it is to upgrade to the higher plan (even if you don't need any other extra features).

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

We use DataDome to detect and block unwanted crawlers/scrapers and malicious bots from our platform. Our main benefit from using this solution is the increase on the quality of the leads delivered to our customers.

What do you like best about the product?

DataDome is easy to setup and provides an easy way to mitigate bad bots, while providing an overview of what is actually going on in real-time (both for good bots, technical partners and bad bots). We use it daily to get an idea of what automated bots are doing and keep things in check.

Also the accuracy has improved over the years since we've started using it, to a point where we can trust it to be highly accurate in distinguishing between bad bots and good (verified) bots.

Their new solution, Ads Protect, looks fantastic, and it is perfectly legitimate for them to continue in that direction, unlike other companies that don't propose bot protection.

Their back office is quite advanced so you are able to analyse everything. It requires time and training to fully adopt the usage of the product.

We have a rather unusual use case: instead of needing bot protection on sites that we own, we needed to add bot protection to many different customer sites (that we have essentially no control over) with minimal UX impact. This condition meant we couldn't use many other bot detection and protection strategies, but the DataDome engineers worked closely with us throughout setup and we were able to get their product to work for us the way we were hoping. The protection has worked well and without issue, and conseuqently we're even looking into other ways DataDome can be incorporated into our product. The dashboard is easy to navigate and the false positive rate & CAPTCHAs passed metrics help us to know if and how our customers are being affected. Additionally, the pricing is reasonable and more affordable than many competitors.

What do you dislike about the product?

The only con that comes to mind about DataDome is that because of the way their client-side javascript works, sometimes unexpected code conflicts on our customers' sites or ad blockers used by the end user means the invisible bot detection is unable to work. However, the fact that DataDome shows a fallback CAPTCHA if they're unable to invisibly confirm that the end user is not a bot means that even in that edge case, we can be confident that the end user will still be able to access the desired content if they really are a human and that bots will be reliably filtered out.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

DataDome provides bot detection and mitigation for one of the features that we offer customers to put on their site. If it wasn't for the DataDome's bot protection and their ability to meet our unusual constraints, we wouldn't have been able to confidently release the feature without concerns of abuse (which would be a negative experience for our customers and also endanger our own systems).
