Gaining Insights through Analytics using Qlik Sense
What do you like best about the product?
Being able to create a central reporting platform with governed security rules allows all your users to see the same version of the data and not be able to manipulate data like with spreadsheets.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although it is not the most expensive product on the market, using Qlik Sense does come at a substantial price. The product does not include all the features and additional features need to be purchased as add ons.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The automatic reloads in Qlik Sense have allowed us to automatically update reports on an hourly basis, within seconds, that took us hours to prepare. Now we can analyze and use the data rather than spending time preparing the data. The speed and availability of analytic ready data are now available regularly which has enabled us to take action on the insights gained.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Qlik Sense has been a great addition to our business and has empowered us to utilize more of our data.
Qlik offers a variety of options that even suit the smaller customer, might be worth looking at the Qlik cloud option.

Good BI dashboarding tool and powerful ETL tool
What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy it is to create throwaway apps using different data sources. Managing many-to-many relations is a breeze with the tool. Variables and master items are pretty handy.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike how hard it is to maintain some sort of framework (compared to Cognos). The QMC interface could use some more work as all the popup windows are too small to my liking and some options are not easily available without the API.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are providing dashboards to our users by mixing multiple data sources together.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's a good software but keep in mind it's using a lot of partners for multiple third-party extensions and it gets costly very fast (even though the initial price is low).
Simple analytical tool for users but very powerful.
What do you like best about the product?
It is a tool that uses an associative data model that allows you to explore them in a very fast way and with a very fast learning curve for both analytical and non-technical users.
In addition, it has fully connected graphics that allow you to dive into the data easily to find the insights and the maps also provide great usability.
In the technical part, it has multiple connectors to be able to connect to almost any data source and it has a script part that allows the processing and modeling of the data in a simple and fast way. Working with Qlik .qvd files is very fast.

What do you dislike about the product?
The graphics part, although it has many graphics implemented, its configuration is quite restricted and allows little functionality in the formats.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Qlik has allowed us in an agile way to create dashboards for the various departments of the company, which homogenize the data and allow easy use for users, who also have the possibility of self-creating their own reports.
As general benefits, the access and use of the data from the reports is very fast. Users need very little knowledge to use it. The development script is simple but powerful, allowing you to process the data and create the necessary data model.

What do you like best about the product?
You can build integration templates that your customers can activate within a couple of clicks.
What do you dislike about the product?
It takes a bit of time to get used to the platform. I would suggest following a webinar or a free online course to learn the basics of the blend editor.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We utilize blendr to sync data between multiple HRM platforms and our e-learning platform.

What do you dislike about the product?
some functions in Qlik are note intuitive (yet) like pivots etc. Advanced tools in script editor etc needs skilled IT pro. More local training opportunities needed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our main systems and ERP lack solid visualizations to meet our many reporting needs, we had to work too much in excel and data crunch over and over again.
We have now full interactive dashboards for management and operations. Data driven decision making is what we do on a daily basis.

If you need or like fast amazing results this is the product you should go.

Marketing and missing a cool Vision for the next 2 years

Question to you data, just answer it, from loading, transforming to analytics in minutes without the possiblity to make for special issues complex script or expression. And very important the same expression language everythere.

Qlik is much more than a visualisation tool. This a kind of DWH, ETL, Analytics and Reporting tool really in one solution.
From the easy and fast analytics to the complex and also fast analytics... really good performance

Still doesn't have some of the options we used with QlikView.

You become productive almost instantly; obviously you should start with simpe project-dashboards adding complex features as you go along.
Qlik Sense scripting language is flexible, able to reach your data anywhere, you can develop fancy ETL modules, with transformations right there.
Qlik Sense also feature the Data Manager interface, It allows users with little knowledge with programming (scripting) languages to load their data on their own, at their convenience.
Authoring dashboards is so easy and simple with a variety of graphics controls, and if you want to present your data beyond the product capabilities you can write your own extension (yes, you need to do some programming to do them) or go to the Qlik Branch Garden you may find what you need already written by the community.

What do you dislike about the product?
The product is expensive, and if you are un independent developer or student you will need to pay for your own personal copy. Unfortunately, if you are working for a client with Qlik Sense you can use their version, but the freedom to research and test new ideas at home will cost money to some people.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am not working at a Qlink Sense client at the moment, so I am very involved with the Qlik Community assisting other developers with their questions, while sharpening my skills.

QlikSense is a great product, always introducing new features, with a knowledge base on the internet, and plenty of Qlik Specialist always ready to answer any question.
