Super simple feature flagging!
What do you like best about the product?
Specifying feature flags down to the individual users for your app and creating new feature flags are created for you for every environment you have created for your applications
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface for a flag can be slightly daunting at first in knowing what on or off is for what API
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Environment-specific rendering of features. A significant benefit is testing features that might function unexpectedly depending on their environment, primarily utilizing a third-party service or API.

The confidence LD gives me to test in prod
What do you dislike about the product?
So far there isn't anything I don't like.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Testing features in prod, launching features incrementally, and getting feedback from a few early users.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Launching a feature for 100% of your users is just not smart when we have better options.
A brilliant way to separate a deployment from a release of new functionality
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ease of implementation and the power within the tool to target features to individuals and segments based on pretty much any attribute. It's great to use LaunchDarkly with virtually any tech stack. It offers excellent controls for roles and permissions, allowing teams to collaborate effectively with little risk of teams being able to configure features in production for other teams' functionality. Rolling out features and experimenting with new functionality is a brilliant way to safely deliver new value to your products, proving along the way that customers want that feature.
What do you dislike about the product?
One area that can be developed further within LaunchDarkly would be the experimentation data and UI. Gaining insights from the segments of customers used within experiments is tricky as experiment data is collated together, even when separate targeting rules were used to enable a feature
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
There are two main value propositions with LaunchDarkly for how we build software: decoupling a deployment from the release of a feature and the ability to experiment before rolling something out 100%. The former point is crucial in reducing any risk of doing deployments and ensures that the Change Failure Rate is low. The latter point allows us to know that customers are interested in the features that we are building. This ensures we can prove value and interest before investing too much time and resources into building them only to find later that they are not as valuable as first thought
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Trial it with a simple demo, such as changing a logo or some text within the production environment. This demo can be shown to stakeholders to prove how quick and powerful the feature flagging functionality can be
User Improvements at some developer expense
What do you like best about the product?
LaunchDarkly makes it much easier to deliver production-ready code without getting every feature through testing before merging to the main branch. It also allows us to selectively toggle features for specific users.
What do you dislike about the product?
Cleaning up feature flags can be cumbersome. Removing a feature flag (once it is no longer needed) is time-consuming and usually requires consultation with the original author. Feature flags tend to pile up quickly, resulting in technical debt that stakeholders struggle to see the value in tackling.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We started using LaunchDarkly to stop maintaining different 'development' and 'production' branches. The benefits have outweighed the costs. We no longer have to worry about significant conflicts when merging code for deployment.
Does exactly what it promises to!
What do you like best about the product?
It's pretty straightforward! As a PM, we use LaunchDarkly to add clients to a beta, to turn on features for demo accounts for testing purposes, etc. It's a straightforward tool that does exactly what it promises.
What do you dislike about the product?
To be honest, I've never run into a scenario where I needed LaunchDarkly to do something that it didn't. No complaints.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ability for non-technical people to easily turn features on and off for specific accouns.
Easy and dependable
What do you like best about the product?
Super quick to launch features and experiments and roll back as necessary immediately. There are good options for rolling out to required user groups or individuals and lots of oversight features available if you want to be extra careful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Segments and granularity within them can make things unwieldy as they grow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Gating releases, allowing individuals responsible for deploying a feature. Benefits include being quicker to market and easy rollbacks, so team members aren't unnecessarily pulled back into work that has is complete.
