  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
- Availablity of service is big win for our P0 service
- Use launch darkly extensively applying various combinations of custom rules provided.
- Easily able to integrate and implement rules.
What do you dislike about the product?
- The new portal is not very user friendly, things are changed quite bit and have to look for where are variations etc, older one was more easy to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Launch Darkly helped in enabling features at runtime without any deployment to update the flag value. We are using launch darkly for degradation levers as well in case of any panic scenario arises, enable/disable few configs accordingly.

Ease of usage with great experience

What do you like best about the product?
The best things about LaunchDarkly is that we can alter the flow of code pretty easily among the live code that we have deployed. Also LaunchDarkly has cached flow that can be implemented easily to enable caching.
What do you dislike about the product?
In a large system, after sometime, there are many flags that maybe unused after various code changes. We need to manually find these and see what needs to be done with them. This is the only thing that was a bit of hassle.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can easily decide if we want a certain feature to be enabled in production or any level. If this feature is breaking anything, we don't need to redeploy the entire thing and removing the feature code, we can just turn off the flag and voila, everything is good.

Makes releasing changes a much easier and less stressful experience

  • September 19, 2024
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Feature flags allow us to release new features much more quickly because we know we can enable/disable things at the click of a button. They're also hugely configurable so you can enable things for only a subset of users, calls, etc. We use LaunchDarkly basically every day!
What do you dislike about the product?
The only complaint I have is that they seem to redesign their site pretty frequently and that often comes with a short learning curve to get used to it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it to enable/disable features and test new changes more easily.

What do you like best about the product?
The simplicity of the UX is amazing, it's very easy to launch through.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it were easier to define recipients, I bet the same patterns repeat all the time, but it's a very manual process.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Very straightforward UX based system to launch new features

One of the best tools for feature flag management!

  • September 19, 2024
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
- Love how fast and quick it was to setup, and extremely easy to use.
- SDK and integration was smooth, and they customer support has been fabulous at all times.
- Their infrastructure is reliable, very stable and extremely performant.
- Best thing is their real-time flag change propagation, which happens in less than 200ms.
What do you dislike about the product?
- They sometimes perform drastic changes to the UI which breaks the intuitiveness and habits that have been built.
- Can get a bit expensive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's solving the feature flag management for us, and enables us to do A/B testing across the product. The management and control is very smooth, and we're running over 100+ flags at any given points.

LD Review From A QA Engineer

  • September 19, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
-I think the UI for turning on and off flags is intuitive.

-It is easy to know what environments the flag is off and on it

-Turning on and off a flag is easy
What do you dislike about the product?
I do think that when I click on the flag, the history of who turned off the flag and when it was turned off should be more apparent. From a QA engineer's perspective, I need to know this information when triaging software defects.

I also think there should be a better way to toggle flags off and on in automated tests. We wrote our own function to do this, but it would be better from a UX perspective if you all created a cypress or playwright plugin.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing A/B tests. Turning off an on features easily when change is high impact

The favourite way to introduce new features on run time by enabling / disabling toggles from remote

  • September 19, 2024
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It gives us flexibility to add new features without making them immediately live by adding toggle and keeping that toggle off in code
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it can get a bit daunting to add conditions in the toggles. Mostly its a piece of cake though.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We add new feature which we want to enable after some time but code is already pushed. So for that we can add a toggle from Launch darkly and integrate it in code to keep the feature off until triggered on from the LD dashboard.
