GoAnywhere helped us replace antiquated processes
What do you like best about the product?
We were looking to replace a PC that was running many batch scripts using the task scheduler and human operators to accomplish tasks. The PC was "ghosted" as a backup and ran old software for ftp transfers and PGP/email transfer jobs to name a few. With GoAnywhere we now have replaced these processes with centrally managed file transfers in a secure and controlled manner. We are able to connect and transfer files between many disparate systems in-house and also out of network, reliably and with accountability. The robust system is set up on a VM host running Microsoft Server OS. We like that we had the ability to start out using the embedded darby database but then were able to migrate to MS SQL once we were confident in how the product would work for us in our environment. Logging, account creation and scripting all can be performed from one application. Coupled with the GateWay product, we have a secure outward facing sFTP solution as well. Audit reporting works well and the automated workflows really help is in creating multiple jobs accomplishing similar tasks quickly. The customizable dashboard gives our engineers and programmers quick info at a glance. Upgrades to the product are pretty straightforward and Linoma support is top notch - whether you are calling in, or using their chat via the support portal.
What do you dislike about the product?
Would like to see more "use case" scenarios and sample projects available on the support portal. It would be handy in explaining to more of our IT staff how they could utilize the MFT product to accomplish more tasks that they are performing manually or with cumbersome scripting. More canned projects to build off of would also be helpful in jump starting users with limited programming abilities.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Centralized management of the file transfer process from start to finish. Secure web access, audit logging and automated notifications. Increased reliability for business critical transfers.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The MFT product coupled with the Gateway can provide you a highly secure means of transferring files both in and out of your private network. It will save time by replacing cumbersome and outdated scripts and software and works well across a myriad of disparate systems.
Great Product- Latest in Technology
What do you like best about the product?
I have been using GoAnywhere since last 3+ years and was introduced to it when I was challenged to work on project connecting IBM platform to an external web server for data transit. Though there are several methods to use, GoAnywhere worked like a magic that helped me program with ease. Since then GoAnywhere is my go to product for anything associated with data transfer, format translation and working with web services. Its also great to see that this product is up to date with all latest data formats used in the industry that makes it a reliable one for most projects. Looking forward to more upgrades in the future to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Just a few limitations in features like XML, that does not allow for conditional elements to be created. Hope to get these sorted out in later upgrades.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data transfer over FTP, calling web services, data translation with XML/JSON etc.

Great features and easy to use.

I particularly like GoAnywhere MFT's scripting functionality. Combine that with it's built-in ability to automatically monitor for file availability, it's success/failure email notifications, speedy technical customer service, and it's built-in extensive help features, and you have what I consider an excellent software product.
What do you dislike about the product?
As yet I have found nothing I dislike about GoAnywhere MFT.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Automated bidirectional FTP and SFTP file transfers, some with encryption. We have been able to quickly satisfy the FTP and SFTP file transfer requirements of some of our customers.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely give this software a try. I don't personally know how it compares to other such products, but I can tell you it definitely satisfied our requirements.
Great automation and time saver tool
What do you like best about the product?
The fact that it can automatically restart failed transmissions at the exact record it left off at instead of forcing a restart of the entire transmission!
What do you dislike about the product?
Only improvement is gact that you can only copy records, not entire files.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have been able to automate processes that used to need manual attention for over 4 days per month and they now take hours.

You will enjoy working with the staff at GoAnywhere and Help Systems!
It's easy once you get it set up
What do you like best about the product?
Great support, intuitive interface, very few problems, & I like the job logs.
What do you dislike about the product?
I found it very challenging to create the "projects", initially. But support will help you thru it and their rates are reasonable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Passing encrypted data files all day long every day with very few problems, very little monitoring.

GoAnywhere is the all-in-one file transfer platform. Easy administration and interface.

Not really a dislike, but would like to see more robust examples of tasks.

File transfer administration was very difficult utilizing standard FTP clients and scripting. GoAnywhere provided a central platform for easy administration.

What do you like best about the product?
The best part of MFT is how many man hours we save using the automated workflows.
What do you dislike about the product?
The search feature in the Audit log could be improved. It does not always find the correct results.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Automated file exchanges, encryption, DB imports and Exports. As well as job notifications.
Overall experience has been very positive, virtually pain free.

Ease of use and flexibility, found the interface very straight forward and intuitive, quickly got up to speed.
We were able to very quickly retire several file transfer solutions which were both rigid and plagued with errors.
Being able to tie this into our database server executing jobs, stored procs, pulling and pushing data has been of enormous value.

Needing a separate license for development. My cardinal rule is never develop or test in production and abhor needing a separate license.

MFT product is great. I have been using this product for over 9 years with ease. No issue.
What do you like best about the product?
MFT software has various transmission features. In our environment we use FTP, SFTP, Network share and other features. They are easy to use and configure. Files get encrypted and decrypted easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
Only issue I found is during the upgrade, we have to switch the product from Db2 to durby database because we use MIMIX replication fature and it encounters issue during the upgrade.

It saves lot of time in transmission setup. in As400 world, we have using for long time and now introduced in Windows world also. All users are extremely happy with this product.
