What do you like best about the product?
The customization options of the tool and speed of the calculation engine.
What do you dislike about the product?
Depending on who is implementing the tool, it can become very unnecessarily over complicated
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Providing visibility into how things are calculated and eliminating 1000s of spreadsheets to prevent errors. It also decreases the planning preparation period and increases the analysis period.

Anaplan is a very flexible and scalable tool that can fit most business needs for forecasting.
What do you like best about the product?
I like the flexibility of the tool. It allows for business users to build the model with logic the fits their needs
What do you dislike about the product?
I believe the licensing can be a bit expensive compared to other tools.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We a reducing time to make planning decisions dramatically by reducing cumbersome excel models and processes.

What do you dislike about the product?
Formula not inundated and unable to use extensions line A+ for easier readability in New Model experience. I am looking forward to a platform update to enable this feature.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
At Okta, we use Anaplan for complex modeling and Financial Planning (Budgeting and forecasting). With the NUX feature, the users can use it comfortably. FP&A team can plan and forecast very effectively to actual data.

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of usability and scalability with multiple dimensions, the powerful reporting feaatures with NUX and Management Reporting Tool, take Anaplan a notch higher than similar planning tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
The focus at times is just on the end user's perspective - fundamental and essential things that would matter to a model builder are sometimes left out - examples are not being able to choose changes that should move from the dev to Prod environment as part pushing changes through ALM - has been long pending.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have had a major aquisition recently, and integrating all the FY planning and bringing in the workforce and financial data within Anaplan was realtively easier and smoother due to the flexibility the platform provides.

Great flexibility and powerful calculation engine that allows for quicker planning and modeling.

User management is very flexible, but tedious and painful.

Territory & Quota planning across all regions. We've achieved a faster planning cycle with fewer errors.

Anaplan has a tremendous calculation engine and is a great tool to pivot quickly and review targeted data.
What do you dislike about the product?
The "toast" time when an enerted error takes place.

I am solving forecasted Waterfall Payment and Fund modeling for private equity firms.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that the user experience is really flexible and meets the main needs of most enterprises. The Connected Planning experience a good implementation can give to its customers is a high-end solution that works really well. The platform constantly expands and is market competitive, the multiple integration options allow the system to communicate and seamlessly fit in any existing environment.
What do you dislike about the product?
Having been exposed to the gritty back-end work and not only the shiny front-end, there are things that can be enhanced in the way the dimensions work and the way the engine performs - being a live system means any blocking action cripples user experience for everyone involved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Enterprises shifting their planning processes to a tool that can meet all their needs - processes can be clear and concise, and seamlessly interact with the overall business cases. Complex processes that span over multiple regions and business units are usually difficult to optimize or consolidate; however using Anaplan makes this step far easier to accomplish and maintain.

What do you dislike about the product?
Its single-threaded nature makes it sometimes hung if something is running already, for instance, a data load process or something related to a wrong command, etc. which puts all the users on a halt for a few seconds
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are utilizing Anaplan's computing capabilities for enhancing the planning, budgeting, and analytics process for our Sales and Finance domains to speed up the process and provide better insights for decision making. We recently used Anaplan for Sales Incentive payouts calculation, where in the payout mechanism was highly customized and Anaplan was flexible enough to cover for all the requirements.
