Anaplan is a great solution for complex data modeling
What do you like best about the product?
Anaplan can handle large data sets with ease, allowing end users to build a mirade of reports and calculations.
What do you dislike about the product?
The apps aren't perfect. It is difficult to build an app that looks good.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Anaplan is helping speed up our clients financial planning process in multiple ways. First, clearing out data and reimporting take next to no time to complete. Second, we are able to model out different scenarios and adjust using inputs to see the impacts in real time.

Robust modeling and insightful analytics with growing collaboration
What do you like best about the product?
Anaplan does a phenomenal job of modeling data. If you can provide Anaplan the data relationships, it can show you deep insights and allow you to perform extensive scenario analysis. In short, it is the answer to making big data useful. No one sifts through thousands or millions of transactions to see patterns and trends. Anaplan gives you the tool set do it. Additionally, Anaplan is build-to-suit; the answer to 'Can Anaplan do it?' is almost always 'yes'; it can consume and enhance your current data structures as well as provide the foundation for bona fide process transformation.
What do you dislike about the product?
While the nature of the tool promotes collaboration in the planning process through its role functionality, the day-to-day collaboration is not mature yet. There is room to grow in workflow and collaboration-specific functionality (e.g. comments in-platform).

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As an implementation partner, I help companies solve a variety of problems with Anaplan. I primarily focus on sales performance management (SPM), so I will comment from that perspective. The most pervasive business problems that are solved by Anaplan are developing and managing territories and setting and adjusting quotas for the sales force. Most organizations lack any type of enterprise-level solution that does this, and the most frequent 'system' that is replaced is Excel. Anaplan provides a single source of truth for territories and targets; it allows for collaboration around that single data set and holistic data analytics that provide insights from an individual sales rep to mid-level managers to executives who oversee regions, business units, and entire organizations. The most potent advantage that is realized is the ability to view high-level KPIs, but to then drill into the details at a low level to understand what is driving them.

Flexibility, clean, structured user interface, performance speed
What do you dislike about the product?
It takes time to ramp and understand platform, structure decreases flexibility, need to have in house superusers to maintain and update model
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were able to create more operational efficiencies and drive innovation within the organization. Processes were streamlined in a singular application and reduce overall time to produce reporting and planning outputs. Better visibility into the forecast cycle and more accurate results were a direct byproduct of the software.

can have better ux and require advanced Machine learning & Artificial intelligence modeling scenarios for assisting businesses with decision making
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Most of the customers could generalize the business planning process across geo's, thus bringing in standardization. Driver-based planning resulting in a reduction of planning time. what-if analysis for better decision making

if you are in the market looking for a tool that helps you with business planning and execution, I would strongly recommend Anaplan, irrespective of the business function or industry

The ease of use of the application, it's very user friendly, and somewhat intuitive.

Enhancement and reporting capabilities of the application

Automation of spreadsheets in finance and brand building. The ease of collaboration globally and ease of use.

The customisability of the tool means that most things are possible!
What do you dislike about the product?
All functionality from classic dashboards has not been replicated in the UX.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Currently looking at real estate financial modelling using the tool to underwrite new deals and analyse different scenarios.

Anaplan Models can be customized based on the use case. Rather than having a fixed model.

Need more tools for developers. especially on New UX.

We are solving financial planning with Zero-based Budgeting, Inter-Company Reporting, KPI tracking for varius use cases.

What do you like best about the product?
Real-Time Updates, multidimensionality, UX have all made it hard for me to even look at a spreadsheet anymore

Space constrictions sometimes get in the way of building the model in the desired way
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Businesses moving their existing planning processes into Anaplan save so much time and can digest so much more information quicker. They are now using their time on more strategic work, such as how to improve forecasts and processes and how to make better business decisions based on improved planning.

Make sure you have users that want to take advantage of a tool like Anaplan. Because it is 100% customizable, you will need serious user engagement to get the right product.

Anaplan can further work upon the usability, support, limited layer of information to provide a delightful end-user experience.

I've been using Anaplan for 6 years now across multiple use cases and it is always a pleasure to hear from our clients how useful it has been for them in terms of widespread planning across the organization which means that they have comprehensive information to continuously adapt plans as they sense changes in the market.

It's the best tool so far for Analysis and Planning in almost any domain possible. As it's a blank slate, businesses can design it as per their needs, the domains they are into and the existing process that they are following.
Also, Anaplan is coming with new features now and then to progressively improvise the tool to the best of customer's needs.

That it does not have a function for "today's date".

I am driving organizations in their transformational journey from purely manual or excel based to automation by understanding the business trends and analysis readily available in Anaplan.
