scalable & customizable Integrated business planning platform
What do you like best about the product?
connected planning, scalability and flexibility - it's ability to solve variety of business planning use cases across sales, finance & operations in the same platform and connect them for better decision making and reduce manual efforts has proven valuable for our organization
What do you dislike about the product?
1. No out-of-the-box features, everything has to be custom built
2. Can't handle large volume of data or large number of users very well
3. No native integration options with ERPs, CRMs and other systems.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use anaplan for variety of use cases - Territory & Quota Planning, Incentive Compensation planning, Headcount and workforce planning, project planning etc. Anaplan has helped greatly in reduing manual efforts in our planning process, improve cross colaboration with different business orgs for faster plan execution and decision making

What do you like best about the product?
1. extremly flexible for unique business needs
2. recent enhanced capablitiles for consolidation, Excel modelling and external reporting via Flunce (an Anaplan Company)

What do you dislike about the product?
Anaplan is quite expense and a lot of functionality needed additional cost e.g. workflow, Fluence etc.

They have a clear vision, and product innovation is constant, with new features introduced regularly. This tool is easy to integrate and doesn't require an IT background.

With six years of experience using Anaplan, I can confidently say there is nothing to dislike.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Anaplan's connected planning is highly valued by clients worldwide. As a model builder, I have successfully implemented connected planning to integrate Supply and Demand, enhancing Inventory Management within Anaplan. In Finance, I have utilized connected planning for Cash Flow Management, Capex Control, EPS Calculations, and Consolidations within a single model. Anaplan truly excels in delivering impressive connected planning solutions.

What do you like best about the product?
Anaplan gives the business the ability to tailor a custom solution that fit their specific needs. Not only that, but users are constrained to use the same approach year after year like with a custom built tool. It allows finance teams to spend less time crunching numbers and more time making actionable decisions. The cloud-based tool also greatly enhances visibility throughout the business, and allows for greater collaboration.
What do you dislike about the product?
Like with any tool, it takes time to go from core concepts to building full-scale models. The first and potentially next few implementations are often relied upon consultants to manage with the goal of it transitioning to business ownership.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organizing complex data into a concise platform that allows our organizations to make decisions quickly and effectively. These not only just save time for our analysts, but provides greater visibility into the data. We have been able to discover things that we were not able to before, and act preemptively on forecasts where we would not have been able to before.

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of Implementation - I am more from business background and it requires nearly no technical background for the implementation.
Tracebility - drill down and history functionality help users to trace to the source of the figures to verify the source data and user inputs
Flexibility of planning hierarchy - ease of creating and maintaing the planning hierarchies
Ease of change - Planning requirements could have changes every year, and Anaplan is flexible to adopt changes

Excel Add-in - Lots of business users like using it but the tool actually is not sophisticated enough; The workaround is try to lead business users to use Anaplan New UX instead of excel add-in
Data Integration - It would be great if Anaplan has the file systems on cloud, so that users may easily trace the source files that they use to upload.

Anaplan: A rapid, User-Centric Powerhouse Revolutionizing Planning Efficiency
What do you like best about the product?
Anaplan brings the end users and their specific needs to the center of design. This means the platforms adheres to the processes of the end users rather than the end users having to adapt to an out of the box process. Even though model builders may need to conduct the on demand trainings to get up to speed. Once completed or with the help of implementation partners Anaplan can be rolled out in a speedy manner. Next to the time savings during the implementation, users will notice an improvement as well as a reduction of their planning cycles. Anaplan can be utilized to connect planning processes of multiple departments enabling a harmonized enterprise wide plan. Due to its maturity on the market, Anaplan has grown a very strong community with many knowledge assets and members that are happy to give a helping hand wherever needed. Platform related questions can easily raised with the business partner team or via email/ticket to the support team.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are two limitations when it comes to planning in Anaplan. One is for sure the missing multi language support. Anaplan would only operate in English which may be difficult for end users who are not too confident using a tool that is not supported in their native language. On top the high degree of flexibility can be blessing and burden at the same time when inefficient processes are transferred onto the Anaplan platform without being challenged during the design phase.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My team and I have enabled mutliple business end users to maintain and enhance their planning solutions within the Anaplan platform without being dependent on the IT department. Many of them shared the same status quo before switching to Anaplan. There are multiple different data sources that need to be gathered and manipulated. By the time they are ready to be used during the planning cycle they are already outdated. Multiple spreadsheets were provided to the various teams in different locations making it almost impossible to provide updates to master data (structural or transactional). With the help of Anaplan those team could trust in the single source of the truth with real-time updates across all business lines and locations.

What do you like best about the product?
I like low learning curve, high speed of development and flexibility of the system. Anaplan can handle big amount of data and solve complex business problems. Also it is quick to implement and integration is not too difficult.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you are new to modeling flexibility might become a problem as Anaplan lets you build as you see fit. And not all methods are equally reasonable. So you really need to think ahead about the model structure.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Anaplan helps to reduce time for planning by a large margin. For example it reduced time required for HR planning from a few days to several hours, compared to planning in Excel. Also, Anaplan allowed to calculate demand in such detalization that wasn't possible before.
