Great tool to understand the customer journey
What do you like best about the product?
Heap is very customizable in terms of what you're able to report on. This makes it really easy to understand the customer journey in a meaningful way. The reports are really easy to generate and easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's so customizable that sometimes it can be a challenge to know exactly what reports would make the biggest difference. Plus it can take a long time to get set up.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Heap helps me to understand the customer behavior within our product so we can help give the best experience possible. If we can understand the Aha moments that lead to conversions within the product, it helps us understand how we can help.

Granular analytics tool
What do you like best about the product?
Heap analytics has the ability to drill down and track conversion or traffic to a very granular level. Providing a close loop reporting from campaign execution to conversion.
What do you dislike about the product?
Slightly steep learning curve. There are some components in Heap that are also lacking - the ability to see user behavior like Google Analytics. or the ability to show attribution.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am using Heap to analyze campaign efficacy. From campaign execution to close loop reporting - looking at conversions that happened. Huge benefit being able to track down to the granular level.
Great for historical comparisons of data and troubleshooting
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ability to track historical analytics in order to see how our users are moving or "funnelling" through our software. With tools like Google Analytics we are limited to defining flows on the day we think to implement them.
What do you dislike about the product?
The software seems primarily dedicated to anyone performing a sales conversion such as E-Commerce, whereas our software is more focused on user engagement and we don't seem to be getting the same benefits.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Heap is also helping us to troubleshoot our platform in that it provides more robust insights into how our users interact with our software.
Extremely powerful analytics tool with a learning curve
What do you like best about the product?
Being able to arbitrarily query past events (e.g. clicks, pageviews) is not only powerful but differentiated in the market. No other analytics tool gives you the same power that Heap does. Their ability to also integrated their data downstream to make it available to BigQuery for deeper analysis is incredibly useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Very steep learning curve initially and requires more planning of analytics than other tools. Be prepared for an initial shock but it's worth it once you get past that.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Faster and more effective insight into our e-commerce funnel and user behaviors in the product. We are able to answer key questions quite easily making a huge impact on our business.
Heap has the ability to create very intricate dashboards in a clear and concise manner.
What do you like best about the product?
I love how clean Heap's interface is and how it allows both beginners and power users the ability to design intricate dashboards. The level of detail and polish of the app as a whole is refreshing.
What do you dislike about the product?
One downside I've found using Heap is that homepages with multiple dashboards sometimes take quite a while to load completely. When I was want to quickly glance at some data, the delay can be annoying.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Heap helps us view analytic events for our entire web application in a clean and easily understood interface via dashboards. It's easy to create a dashboard and share it with everyone else in the company.
Quick & easy
What do you like best about the product?
Good for quick reporting. Event picker is helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not sure if meta data can be passed through to events.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Good for pulling quick analytics that dont require a lot of customization.
Heap is great for data and analytics
What do you like best about the product?
Heap can tell a full story of analytics - you can filter and select very specific items to look at more in depthly.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think there should be more display options - rather than just graph/circle/list.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Showing which templates or parts of the tool are used most and which are not. Then able to present this data.
Great learning material
What do you like best about the product?
I like the neat UI and the visual labeling feature. I also like that Heap has Heap University which contains learning material.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is difficult to set up, and when using the visual labeling feature it does not work for dropdowns such as filters, sorting, menus, etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Heap is helping us track our metrics but we have had to acquire a subscription for another platform to visualize heat maps, measure clicks, etc.
Heap is a great product analytics tool to get to insights quickly
What do you like best about the product?
Heap is great for getting answers quickly on user behaviors without needing to spend engineering effort. It's easy to do, you get data from the last few weeks (depending on your plan), and you can make decisions quicker.
What do you dislike about the product?
Given how the data is tracked, it's never as perfect as instrumenting custom events (which you can do in Heap as well!), and can need some fidgeting to get right (especially with Snapshots). Beyond that, there have been a lot of improvements to the experience to make it easier and create better adoption, but sometimes adds extra clicks to advanced users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Heap helps us make decisions quicker and helps us keep our engineers focused on building new features instead of new events. Its a great compliment to other business intelligence tools which have more fact-based data.

Heap lets us visualize and display our data in a way that makes it easy for all employees to see our progress as a company in various areas.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not have any complaints about Heap at this time.
