Analyzing user interactions on our SaaS product.
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ability to configure events based on CSS selectors and DOM events.
What do you dislike about the product?
At times it can be a bit confusing to segment users and drill down to exactly the session that I am looking for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to track user events and use session data to troubleshoot reported issues.
Heap has helped us understand our user journey like never before- without code!
What do you like best about the product?
Heap is very easy to use. There is no code required beyond integrating Heap with your website. While we and most companies can look at how many visitors see each page, Heap allows you to track micro steps in your journey such as scrolling down a page so you can address those pain points.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is a little inflexible in a sense if you have a user journey laid out and people visit all the steps but in a different order than you have laid out, they will not be counted as doing that journey.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Heap is helping us solve the problem of where in our journey visitors are dropping off and where there is friction. This gives us the ability to ab test in a very targeted way
Sharp learning curse, but good and fast support
What do you like best about the product?
User based analytics, is a deep lever we can work with. I like that once it starts tracking we can retroactively look at the data. I've never used other competitors
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI takes some time to learn, when you need to set up definitions and properties. It's not an "out of the box solution" We need to QA alot and while it leads us to making better decisions. I'm still a little bit skeptical with it. As we add new marketing channels the definitions will need to be updated, which will take time and effort.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Marketing attribution between various product lines. at least we're still working on determining these benefits. But I can see it replacing GA4
Heap: User Friendly Analytics
What do you like best about the product?
My favorite tool that Heap offers so fair is the Event Visualizer to easily define events right from your UI.
What do you dislike about the product?
Have to re-select "Navigate Page" after every click when in the Event Visualizer. The default should be "Navigate Page" and users should have to click "Define Event" when they reach the desired page. I work with an online platform that has a plethora of steps before getting to the event I am trying to define.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy access to data surrounding feature utilization without requiring hefty knowledge of SQL and other analytics.

Great analytics tool for small teams
What do you like best about the product?
The autocapture feature is amazing. Being a small team it is great to have a tool which gives you out of the box analytics capability without much dev effort. Has great documentation as well
