Powerful but expensive
What do you like best about the product?
The visualization tools are very flexible and the ability to track nearly anything in your web experience is extremely powerful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Heap is pretty expensive compared to other solutions, but the fact that you are not limited in the number of events that you track is powerful (pricing is based on sessions).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have been about to learn more about paths that users take on our site and use those insights to help drive product prioritization decisions.

Great app!
What do you like best about the product?
The auto-capture feature is definitely Heap's strongest feature. Heap Connect is also awesome for data wrangling.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Shopify integration leaves something to be desired. While Heap Connect is great, I don't love that I need to write complex SQL to sessionize order events.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mostly marketing attribution for purchases. We also use it for optimizing our site for our users.
So much data, its hard to sift through
What do you like best about the product?
I love the options and the simple set up to turn on and off features. I also love the recommended reports.
What do you dislike about the product?
Its hard to sift through the amount of data available, and its difficult to get user-level data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are trying to understand user engagement and how updates affect overall usage of various features. There is a significant benefit to seeing what users are doing in the platform.
Full Featured Addition to Any Marketing Team's Suite of Analytics
What do you like best about the product?
I like Heaps's suite of features the best. All of which are quite robust. Their implementation of funnels is by far the best along with the ability to simultaneously view and define events on your analyzed web pages. Lastly, the snapshot feature is wonderful and I can imagine a lot of use cases for it.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like a more detailed explanation or documentation on some aspects of reporting features. Most of your analyses tools are very well documented but some such as touchpoint conversions could use some work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The primary issues we are solving are funnel analysis through the web pages we own with our various partners. At the moment we are just getting started, but I can see us utilizing Heap to figure out how best to structure and optimize our customer journeys to increase conversion and retention.
Insanely powerful insights at your fingertips
What do you like best about the product?
One of my favorite aspects of using Heap.io (I've used it at two companies now) is that a non-technical person like myself can define events right in Heap using things like CSS selectors and target text equals. It's pretty easy to dive into a specific user to see what went wrong or what went right.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I don't love is that I believe they recently started only keeping 1 year of historical data, anything beyond is a cost. Also, it's somewhat expensive for Startups which kind of sucks. However, it is a powerful tool and one of the easiest and most rewarding to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Heap is helping us gain insights into aspects of our business where we should either stop investing resources or start investing more resources. Heap is helping us use data to make educated decisions quickly.
Very valuable insights
What do you like best about the product?
Some metrics like the most commonly used features are valuable tools to build a product roadmap. Love those insights. The dashboard is also pretty handy since it is very customisable.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some features like Average session time are not readily available. Missing those kind of metrics. Also some of the custom made vent definitions are not very intuitive if you are not tech savvy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Heap helps us make better product decisions and acts as a valuable feedback loop that gets us inights from customers/users without directly engaging them on surveys etc.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Heap is a powerful tool that can provide valuable insights to enable you to make good product decisions.
Great Platform!
What do you like best about the product?
This platform allows me to pick any data points I need. I'm able to find customer info on any and all things I'm curious about on the company's website. Super helpful tool for sure!
What do you dislike about the product?
I think people could benefit from more tutorials when starting on the platform! It can get complex and I found myself looking up Youtube tutorials to help me with my research!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Customer traffic distribution around the website, most visited blog posts, product traffic and interest, etc. We use this data to make website changes and it has been super helpful!
Better Tracking and Data Analysis
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to look through a customer's journey. Where they first came through and all their points of entry. This allows us to see the full picture. It is also helpful for our affiliate program.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a bit of a learning curve with the queries to run. It took time to learn how to correctly create the right queries to find the information we were wanting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
There are a few that come to mind.
#1: Coupon sites - are coupon affiliates bringing in new customers or just capitalizing on customers we already had that are looking for a deal. We are able to use heap to see when our customer looks at those sites is it before or during the checkout process. What does it look like when they don't find a valid coupon does that change their behavior.
#2: Affiliates: We had problems with tracking our affiliate program and heap allowed us to find the information we were needing that we couldn't get out of Google Analytics.

What do you like best about the product?
User friendly, you get out 10x what you put in, the historic information immediate upon set up is huge, no waiting for data to be captured.
What do you dislike about the product?
The hardest part is getting people to lean in and use it; I think getting a complimentary demo to my peers would have been helpful up front.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Decisions based on 'hunches' or 'UX experience' are behind us. We also use for trouble shooting with customers, when they do something in our platform they didnt mean to do
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just set it up, its really easy, if you don't like it after the trial, then you probably just aren't in the mindset to use this data. But next time you need to make a UI decision with your designers, this tool will haunt you and you will realize you wish you could grab info for that decision.
Great product and easy to use.
