What do you like best about the product?
its a very fast tool for data cleansing and grouping

It take more time , sometimes crashes and close

Alteryx for Data Science & Analytics
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of building workflows and scheduling model runs
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of community support for specific features and functionalities
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helping line managers to switch to a more user-driven and drag and drop platform for running analytical workflows for data preparation, modeling and visualization
An ETL tool that can solve basic Data Engineering task easily and effectively and also accurately.
What do you like best about the product?
Creating the jobs in this tool is very easy wrt Datastage. All the functions are easily deployable and usable.
What do you dislike about the product?
Writing constraints are sometimes tricky, as in ETL. We need a complete transformation of the data, and applying complex logic via regulations is difficult.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am using this tool for an ETL process and using this tool to load the data from Salesforce to Teradata.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Many Data Engineering (ETL) tools are out in the market. Still, this tool has a competitive advantage over others because of a higher user community, Ease of use and processing speed of large chunks of data with parallel processing.
Great Tool When Dealing with Large Data Sets Across Several Platforms
What do you like best about the product?
The visualizations make it easy for people without coding experience to build workflows. COnnect to and run SQL scripting is easy for those who know coding. Schedule reports to be sent via email, or FTP.
What do you dislike about the product?
It does not run on MAC OS. I wish the charts looked more visually appealing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Speed up or replace sometimes slow and difficult Excel processes. Can be used across multiple departments to join databases that they own with the ability to join those datasets to create new ones.
Powerful data analysis
What do you like best about the product?
Ability to import various datasets and combine quickly, insert formulas to perform different functions, and ease of use (the learning curve is not that steep at all). The functions I end up using the most are join, union, and summarize (which is quite powerful).
What do you dislike about the product?
It's sometimes hard to make sure that it's doing everything correctly. I often manually do some of the computations I'm performing in Alteryx (just for a couple of data points) to make sure that the way I set up the workflow worked as intended.

Working with large datasets that Excel cannot handle or combining different datasets that have the same identifier

Ease of use. Ability to quickly solve a lot of problems very quickly

All features are available no matter user leve. Can be hard to use a new tool and know what is important. Error codes are difficult at first to parse out

Integration with Tableau and the ease of ETL processes

It does spatial analytics, utilizes Map API's, does MDM (Metadata management), lot of SQL without having to do it directly, joins, aggregations and saves the time of all complex query writing with efficient and highly automated workflows

Getting access to the tool may not be as easy since it requires IT Support
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Rolling up data in Excel spreadsheet that can be messy to understand top attributes over time, any time series patterns and discrepancies in the data to highlight. I have taken this to extend the benefit to how we work with SAP Data to come to Alteryx with a plugin, DVW Analytics

Take time to review and do the certification, it will help and weekly challenges
I use Alteryx in 99% of my client projects, it is highly reusable, easy to understand and learn
What do you like best about the product?
Alteryx has detailed product documentation and an active community to help with any problem. We can literally find a solution to every problem by googling it or searching on the Alteryx website. It is effortless to learn and easy to use as well. Once we create the logic, we just have to hit Ctrl + R to reuse the workflow.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes while connecting multiple tools in the workflow, the connection becomes very clumsy; it just looks odd on the canvas, other than this, nothing specific. I wish Alteryx adds the capability to identify Excel - Formulas and formatting in the input files
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I heavily leverage Alteryx to manage super large data sets, more than ~100 million data points to 25k+ columns. I also use it for getting small things faster than manual methods. I do a lot of ETL, Data Management, Tool creation and Automation using Alteryx
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Alteryx has a great Alteryx community, so if you are a new user, leverage the Alteryx community to its fullest, complete courses, and then you will be super user in no time. Only real hands on experience will make you the real master in this tool.
Fast, easy, and powerful data analysis for regular people
What do you like best about the product?
Previous programming experience is nice, not necessary, to get the most out of Alteryx. The program's intuitive GUI really helps make the whole analytic process stay transparent and easy to fix
What do you dislike about the product?
The syntax can be annoying on some equations. I always get tripped up when I'm doing time difference formulas

We use Alteryx to manipulate all of the spreadsheets related to our client's real estate portfolio and prepare them for data visualization in Power BI

Currently, the designer is a desktop install, but that is changing soon.

Literally anything with data. All reporting, connectivity, and analytics requirements.
