A simple yet powerful tool for analytics solutions
What do you like best about the product?
I love that fact that Alteryx is capable of handling much larger amounts of data. The interface is also extremely smooth. It's visual and interactive nature massively reduces the amount of coding required. I also love the Alteryx community. It's always very prompt and helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the resolution of the workflow gets lowered. I haven't been able to find out any reason for this but it's not any hardware issue. Although, this does not possess any set back to my work, a good resolution is always appreciated
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have been analysing huge amounts of data and automating manual processes for clients. The work that would take me about a solid four to five hours to code now just takes about 10 minutes to implement in Alteryx. Making changes to existing workflow is also very smooth because we do not have to look for bugs in a huge paragraph of code.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do give it a shot. Once you get comfortable with using Alteryx you won't go back to statistical programming languages

What do you like best about the product?
The product is great, there is a lot that can be completed that you didnt know you needed. All the companies I sign up with it dont complain about the product at all.
What do you dislike about the product?
The staffing turnovers is difficult especially when it comes to annual renewal and the new reps dont have the company history and they want to keep increasing pricing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Reporting issues are resolved internally.

It facilitates creation of complex workflows and processes, and can be used effectively regardless of your knowledge level of coding.
What do you dislike about the product?
It does not encourage users to write efficient queries. It sometimes freezes over in the middle of a task, which is inconvenient
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has enabled our team to automate several processes, reducing time spent on busy work. By using Alteryx to automate updates to our Tableau extracts, it has also sped up our Tableau dashboard processing times.

Easy to use software with the help of which we can solve complex data Wrangling problem.

Not much scope of customisation and support of programming language.

Alteryx is great for ETL and report automation. There is a bit of a learning curve going from traditional programming to visual based programming.

What do you like best about the product?
The feeling when my organization dumps them.
What do you dislike about the product?
The rag-tag nature of the company depending on end-users to create a "community" in which they "foster solutions" AKA they dont want to invest in actual documentation / error resolution, and just rely on us end-users to try and fix each others problems.
They sell you their "tech", which has about 999 things in it that you will *never* use, and in their only to inflate the price, and then ... well then your on your own chief!

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Moving data from one database to another. We are supposed to realize labor savings, but, and I'm laughing, that hasnt been the case.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take the money and go to the nearest casino and put it on Red at a roullette table. This is statiscally a better investment than Alteryx.

What do you like best about the product?
You can not only just analyse the data on alteryx but also you can create analytics apps and macros in alteryx.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some modules of interface and developer take time to process and sometimes it crashes too.

I use it to create analytical application and to create macros workflows which helps me to analyse large data for meaningful insights.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would highly recommend alteryx because it is a much higher level to research on data analytics. The tools are really helpful and you can generate reports from it.

What do you dislike about the product?
The map visualization is terrible. If you're planning on outputting presentation worthy maps, Alteryx is not the software for it!
The program has glitches - sometimes everything will be created perfectly (data joining as it should, appropriate fields selected, etc), but the program will fail to read in or "update" the workstream and cause errors
Though Alteryx is touted as "Big Data" friendly, we have seen those limits reached (billions of records) and been disappointed with run times.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Alteryx is particularly well-suited for demographic analysis and drive time analysis. Anything at the block group level seems to run quickly and without a hitch. Below though things get bogged down and slow. I would never suggest Alteryx as a map visualization software as this function is not user friendly and does not create presentation-quality results. While the software was originally known for its geospatial function and integration, it seems the company is moving its focus away from this - nice in some ways as R functionality and others have been added, but disappointing as I don't expect improvement in the existing geospatial tools.
Manual manipulation for my data preparation is no more
What do you like best about the product?
Since using Alteryx I have enjoyed the way you can see the effect each tool has on your data set. This has meant you are able to spot mistakes in your process just by stepping through the tool outputs
What do you dislike about the product?
Alteryx does not allow you to store variables to use in your workflow meaning you have to store variable values as whole columns which uses up memory. You can use constants but these can’t change during runtime and also they can’t be read in during run time
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
No longer am I manually manipulating data to prepare it. Even the smallest processes that we do daily weekly or monthly are now being done in Alteryx and save time and errors

Give it a go, it has many uses and very intuitive

It has a easy user Interface. It is very intuitive to work and no intense training is required. It has very good community where a lot of people are actively involved.

workflows cannot be paused. Once disconnected it has to be run again from beginning
