Dropbox is best designed for data storage

  • July 23, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The one thing I appreciate most about Dropbox certainly is the simplicity of access that you have when working with it. I really like that I'm able to use either the site or the application in order to save as well as gain access to my data. There are several occasions which I have realized it useful to be able to gain access to the files which I got stored on my pc through my cell phone.
What do you dislike about the product?
The one thing I don't like most regarding Dropbox will be the restriction of 2 GB of storage space within the trial edition. We need to upgrade the dropbox plan to get more space
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The issue I'm resolving with Dropbox is being in a position to gain access to my data files from any place at work. Whenever I have to go to a different pc or workplace, I'm able to save my data files to Dropbox and gain access to these in different places. This really is excellent simply because I no more need to carry around any kind of date in physical form
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Dropbox is my suggested cloud-based application to save your important data to gain access to those from any other location.

Great Storage Option -easy to share

  • July 23, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to share with anyone
Integration connector available with almost all integration platforms, hence making it widely accepted in organization
Drag and drop option
What do you dislike about the product?
Costing - As the whole organization starts using this product, the cost also starts growing.
Since dropbox is a standalone application, lots of time, it fails to compete with other tools which provide an array of things. For, eg. Google gives you storage along with whole business suites.
In such cases, other applications get preference over dropbox
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Since the email retention policy is getting smaller, we have to use a storage platform, and that is where dropbox comes in makes it easier to store files as well share easily among teammates

Gold standard for file sharing

  • July 23, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
As my title suggests, I believe Dropbox is the gold standard for businesses that need to share files and documents. I personally use it for sharing photos as I run a photography business and find that my clients appreciate the ease of use. I need a lot of storage space, and Dropbox delivers.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do wish that there was a way to generate a sharing link automatically. You can do this, but it's an extra couple of clicks. I wish it were a bit quicker as that is how I share files with clients.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main benefit is that I can share large files quickly and efficiently. My clients need to access their files repeatedly, and it's great that I can send them their links easily. I also like that I can organize folders with ease. I've tried other storage solutions and find that Dropbox is by far the most organized. In addition, since it's widely used, most of my clients have no issues with accessing their files.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure to keep your folders organized, especially if you're working with multiple employees or clients.

A best Online Pendrive

  • July 23, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox saves storage space. Data can be stored online on its website/application. Gmail accounts are able to log into Dropbox, so no new accounts are required, making the process simple. We can share links with our colleagues for data sharing without compromising our privacy. Dropbox allows us to store files, photos, and videos.
What do you dislike about the product?
You can't store more than 2GB of data in its free version. Data will be hard to view if we don't have a good internet connection, as IT loads files slowly. Links can sometimes become corrupt for no apparent reason. Additionally, the plan cannot be renewed forever; it must be renewed every year.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
People are finding it difficult to attend appointments in this time of pandemic. Dropbox is the tool we use to share data among the members of our team. It saves a lot of time. High-security links can be created by us. If we need to store small data, we don't need to carry a pen drive since we can simply upload it to dropbox and access it from anywhere using our gmail account.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I highly recommend Dropbox to anyone who wishes to store data on the internet without compromising their privacy.

Limitations on storage (up to 2 GB)
It requires way to many clicks to download a document
The GUI or interface looks much more complex
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Dropbox to save my official projects I work on daily basis. It helps me in quicking searching, accessing, and sharing the document with my clients anytime, anywhere. It also saves storage space on my laptop and increases its speed
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great tool. must give a try if you are new. The best feature of dropbox is it allows users to restore the files which were deleted accidentally. Thus, it acts as a panacea for everyone who works in the corporate sector. We lose lot of data as files get deleted from us accidentally. With dropbox, you can retrieve them anytime.

It is very easy to use, your folders are secure when you save them. It let you save space on your computer when you save on dropbox. Dropbox Review by Rob R

What do you like best about the product?
DropBox is amazing to store files that are too big to send via email. Sometimes you don't have a way to store or send files, and the dropbox is just the perfect way to do so. Also, it is great for transferring files from one device to another, even when you don't have a computer. That's great for private usage but also for projects and teamwork with other team members. Additionally, Dropbox is very good to share files with customers and clients by giving them permission to access specific folders with a link.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have not had anything specific besides the amount of time it sometimes took to upload files. But, this could be just the location or bad service. Otherwise, dropbox does exactly what I expected it to do.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am using it for sharing files with clients and customers but also to share images and videos with family members who are further away.

reliable and fast, but limited automation/controllability limits flexibility

  • July 22, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Sync seems very reliable and is able to take full advantage of available bandwidth, at least on my connection (about 20Mb/s up). This is much better than other services I've tried. The speed of analyzing files to determine what needs to be uploaded is very good, as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
On Windows, there is basically no control possible from the command line. You can't start or stop the service in a programmatic way -- you need to hard kill the processes and then restart them, because there is no service interface. You can't change things like bandwidth allocations without using the GUI. The Dropbox folder also needs to be on an NTFS volume (e.g., can't use a ReFS volume) and only 1 folder can be selected, and symlinks are not recognized. So if you have files to sync that reside in multiple locations, they need to be consolidated to a single location, which is inconvenient at best and impossible at worst (e.g., if they don't all fit on a single volume).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am trying to use it to automatically upload Veeam backups to offsite cloud storage. After a few days of experimentation, I seem to have a workable, albeit imperfect, system. Assuming all goes well, I will have efficient movement of my backup files offsite.

Best Cloud Storage Hands Down. Personal or Business!

  • July 22, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I have been using Dropbox for over a decade. It wasn't until recently when the company hired my younger brother that I discovered the platform's full potential. I utilize Dropbox to store, archive, and remotely access all of my youtube video recordings. The desktop app makes it very user-friendly, and there are so many tools to utilize once you dive in deeper.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only downside to the application is that when attempting to download huge files or folders, a timeout error occurs. You must either download them file by file or send them to another protocol they have in the software for large downloads.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have solved the issue of bogging down my computer's local storage, which causes it to run slower. The cloud app has benefited me by allowing me to access files on the go anytime, anywhere from any device.

Dropbox is convenient for data storage

  • July 22, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The thing I like most about Dropbox is the ease of access that you have when using it. I like that I can use either the website or the app to save and access my information. There are many times that I have found it helpful to be able to access the documents that I had saved on my computer from my phone.
What do you dislike about the product?
The thing I dislike most about Dropbox is the limit of 2 GB of storage without paying for the entire plan. The times that I need to save and access Dropbox vary depending on the month and the type of work I am currently doing, so having the whole plan at all times is sometimes more than I need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problem I am solving with Dropbox is being able to access my files from anywhere in the office. When I need to go to another computer or office space, I can save my files to Dropbox and access them in other places. This is great because I no longer have to carry around any form of an external hard drive.
