Unbelievable collaboration tool that saved my startup during COVID! UI could be improved.

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to organize files, folders, permissions, etc. is an breeze and very easy to learn. Sharing with other people (DropBox user or not) is also very easy and allows for non-system based (such as iCloud or Windows Sharepoint) collaboration.
What do you dislike about the product?
Many tools seem to be hidden or not well displayed. For example, for my line of work, I am constantly asking clients to upload video files to shared DropBox folders which is easily done, although when I go to download such video files, a "download" button is no where to be found unless I know to click on the three "..." next to a file name. There are other tools within DropBox that are not easily recognizable with the current UI.

The pricing structure also seems a tad high for a smaller startup like myself. I 100% understand charging a monthly fee for additional space but when working with large video files and a smaller budget, we are constantly asking ourselves what we should delete and sacrifice losing and what we shouldnt.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Primarily sending video files back and forth, including graphics, audio, etc. DropBox quickly became the centralized hub for all files to and from our clients. With DropBox, we are easily able to setup new shared folders, permissions, etc. with new clients that we might start working with.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Excellent non-platform binding file-sharing site. Without DropBox, my small startup would not be able to continue through the COVID pandemic. I do recommend taking the time to learn how to set up files, add users, manage privileges, etc., before jumping in, though, as the on-site tutorials are very weak.

Excellent File Syncing & Sharing Platform

  • May 31, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
With installed on your desktop, you can put any file or documents into a designated Dropbox folder & it will be synced with the cloud. Further, with the dropbox apps installed on your phone, you can use the same docs without sharing them to the phone. This saves a lot of time & effort.

Also, it saves space on the desktop since files save on the cloud.
What do you dislike about the product?
it only offers 2 GB of storage with FREE plans which I think is far less than its competitor. Also, it does offer full end-to-end encryption to your files, which means somehow data could be seen & secured on the platform. To overcome this problem, you can use Two-step authentication to keep your files safe.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have been using it for a long time & I had a pleasant time using it. I used to share files with their link without upload it to some other platform. I am using web interface which is easy & simple to use.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that I am able to access my files anywhere. The backups also are great. I can be sure that my files are safe with dropbox
What do you dislike about the product?
I want to be able to use an external drive to store my dropbox folder. Insofar I don't have any other things I dislike about dropbox mayb the price is a bit too much. I wish they had just 1 tier that encompasses the best of everything.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I always want my files to be within my reach anywhere since I'm a freelancer I tend to do a lot of errands and my clients would sometimes request me to send them their files.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's hard not to recommend a utility like dropbox, even the free tier proves to be so useful, and the subscribing to the paid tier is a no brainer.

Excellent cloud storage platform

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox is an excellent platform for me to share files with my colleagues. It serves as a safe and reliable cloud storage software where files can be uploaded either privately or in shared folders that you can grant your colleagues access to. Shared files can be viewed and downloaded by the authorized users. In addition, you can share files manually using their specialized URL or through email invitation. What I like about Dropbox is that it allows me to carry my work files anywhere once they're uploaded to the cloud storage. It has greatly eliminated any need to save files on physical storage devices such as a CD or USB flash drives. Furthermore, since the files have to be downloaded from the cloud storage, they're transferred much faster because your transfer speed is not limited by that of the USB flash drive or CD. Dropbox is a portable software in itself as it can be accessed through any device and even mobiles.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes, the upload speeds are heavily throttled and files take much longer to upload. This has been a recent occurrence that has slowed us down a little.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dropbox makes it easy for us to collaborate and share files. Gone are the days of having send email attachments or sharing USB flash drives to share files. In the current world where everything is done via computers and remote work is prominant, Dropbox delivers on all aspects and saves plenty of time. Dropbox can be integrated easily with project management software like Slack and Trello. One of the tools that comes with Dropbox is Dropbox Paper. You can use this to collaborate on text files and documents simultaneously with your colleagues and share them.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Dropbox is an excellent medium of storage and sharing of files. It's free to use, but you can upgrade it at afforable costs for more storage facility and features that support collaborative work.

Drop box for everyone

  • May 27, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that it's live and everyone in our company is on the same page, as when we make changes to a doc or a timesheet, it automatically updates across all of our devices, which is invaluable.
It is a well known name and the usership is wide spread which means that once you are a user, it is almost guarenteed that if you come across other businesses or work partners they will be able to share files as well.
It is also super handy for personal files that you want to keep secure. In our digital age, we have so much data stored on devices and laptops, it gives peace of mind to know that all of your files are in a safe place, and that you can access them from anywhere.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that sometimes it can be slow. Or if two people are making changes to the same file, it creates a duplicate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are keeping everyone on the same page as mentioned before. It means you can work from anywhere and have access to the information you need. It makes it easier for a business where many of the staff are based at home and across the globe and would otherwise need to crossreference manually.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you have multiple staff, or you want to share files with people with ease, Dropbox is secure and reliable. It is a name to trust

Drop Box - Platform to store memories

  • May 27, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It has an app for almost every operating system—many integrations in the Apps Center, as well as collaboration support. For professional users, it has a lot of valuable features. Digital signatures are also an option.
What do you dislike about the product?
The free version has limited storage. Paid accounts are more expensive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dropbox is an excellent option for online storage, particularly for people who don't want to put all their data eggs in the hands of the big tech companies.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Although they aren't flawless, Dropbox's desktop, mobile, and web apps can outperform many of its competitors regarding what they can accomplish and how well they do it. Dropbox has more than achieved its goal of making USB flash drives obsolete. It's also gone on to do a lot more than that since it's an intelligent, dependable, and secure file synchronization and cloud storage service that everyone can use.

Dropbox for school and work

  • May 26, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like dropbox a lot. I can have more room on my cellphone when I move videos and photos over to dropbox. Dropbox premium is also worth buying! Being in school and working a job where files are needed, I can share my speeches with my class easily without them needing a video app or software in order to watch it. It is also very easy to use and upload.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike how not many people know off dropbox. It would be cool if they upped the regular version from 2GB because that is not a lot. Also, the premium price is kind of pricey considering the other ways to store videos and photos. I do not like how you can not upload photos and videos when you are offline and not on the app. When the app is not open and your wifi is not on, the videos and photos will not upload.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dropbox has helped my schooling and work projects become easier to share.

  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I have been using Dropbox for several years. It's a very useful tool for storing your data on a go. Its helps me many time using my data in emergency situations. Now I need not have to carry my Pendrive and HD for work. I can use Dropbox to store all my files.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only dislike is the free account data limits are very less and we can't transfer the data to other users who is not having dropbox.
Coming to less storage limit. Dropbox should come with more affordable plan to get more storage limit.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dropbox has eliminated the use to carry Pendrive and Hard Disc. I can access my data anytime and its help me many times
Whether i am at home or outside i can access my files anytime. It helped me to be connected to the important data that i have in my disposal.

Simple and Handy

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about DropBox is that I can use my audio file links to integrate with ClickFunnels. I create and sell online digital education programs and to offer my students their most optimal learning experience, I like to upload their teachings in audio format alongside the video format. DropBox allows me to upload my audio files, copy the link and paste it into ClickFunnels for easy integration so that once my students log into their program dashboard, all they have to do it click the play button on their audio teaching and it plays.

This is the feature that I use most with ClickFunnels currently.

I also love that I'm able to easily share files and decide the level of access I give to those I've shared the file with. This has been convenient for sharing multiple files in my business. Because I will often hire someone for a one-time job, like creating a sales page or membership site, it's handy to be able to decide and determine which files need to be shared with them and what level of access they receive. Because these hires aren't full time team members, I like being able to control the level of access each receive.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike about DropBox is that I've used the free version with up to 2G of storage space. I will have my files uploaded, which are under the total storage space available and then I will randomly receive an email from DropBox, sometimes weeks later, saying that my files have stopped synching and that my storage is full even though nothing has changed within the account. A few weeks prior, I was under the storage capacity and didn't add in anymore files but receive a message that my account is full. This has been really frustrating and led me to feel like DropBox isn't the most reliable service. Each time this has happened, which has been multiple times, I've had to go into my account, reload all the files and then add the links back into ClickFunnels for my program dashboards. Once the files have stopped synching, I have to reload them and the share link is new, thus why I then have to add the new link to my dashboard. This has been incredibly time consuming and created a glitch in the service that I'm providing my students, when their audio files temporarily don't play until we reload and update the links.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest problem I've solved is DropBox upload file links being compatible with ClickFunnels. We use ClickFunnels to host our online digital education programs, where we add video trainings and extract the audio from the training to have an audio only play option. This is great for people if they want to listen to our trainings when they are driving or working out and aren't able to watch the video. DropBox makes it simple to copy the link and plug it directly into the back end of ClickFunnels so that our students just click play and are ready to go.

This is currently what I am using DropBox most for!
