Try, Try, Tray Again

What do you like best about the product?
I like how JAMF has helped to automate my workflow and reduced the burden of setting up new users. In an environment that sees high turnover, automation has helped us go from being reactive to proactive.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that the iOS management is more native than macOS. It seems that for iOS there are more checkboxes for configurations but in macOS, much more of the configuration and granular type settings are scripting based.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are empowering end-users to solve their problems before escalating the issues and quasi-integrating them into our IT support structure with Self Service. JAMF allows us to set and forget computers before deployment and focus on larger issues within our small IT department

What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy it is for an admin to set up deployments for endpoints.
What do you dislike about the product?
It’s not really a fault of JAMF but I dislike how it interacts with our environment that is heavy on Windows Active Directory.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is solving the problem of having managed MacBooks. We use Intune for iPad and mobile phone management but am interested in how the two intergrate.

Love the friendliness of the presenters and the willingness to teach and assist with questions personalized to individual environments.
What do you dislike about the product?
One flaw is that the training decks are not provided for users to follow along.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Utilized for app deployment and automation.

What do you like best about the product?
My favorite thing is the ease of ability to register devices in house, or with self-enrollment
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm looking forward to more work on the MDM and state management
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Rapidly growing mac user base = the needs to manage more and more machines each day. Jamf lets us do just that.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Easy to spin up, useful so far

What do you like best about the product?
Accessibility and fluidity of the platform
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing yet - still learning but that is on me
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One-touch deployment has taken a huge chunk out of the onboarding process, much more streamlined.

Jamf Pro is a Need Not a Want

What do you like best about the product?
Jamf continues to improve their product and listen to the JAMF Nation community requests. They have zero-day support for iOS and Mac OS. As new features become available on iOS Jamf is right there with an update to allow management of those features. Enrolling and setting up devices with Jamf is simple making our large deployments super quick and painless.
What do you dislike about the product?
When I am working on mobile apps and I save and app and go back to the list, but it takes me to the top and does not save what I searched. I would like to be able to keep specific apps from being uninstalled. Currently, this setting is all or nothing. Things like our filter and other learning apps that are needed on each iPad can be removed and will install automatically at the iPads next check-in time with Jamf, but with the filter that leaves the device unfiltered for a period of time. On the flip side if we do not allow any apps to be uninstalled then we take away their ability to quickly change out what apps they are using on some of the devices with smaller internal storage capacities.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing an increasing number of devices. With Jamf Pro there is simplicity in managing all of these devices. Distributing apps to devices has been one of the biggest problems that it solved for us.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The best option for managing Apple products. I have used two other products out there and Jamf has the most features for managing Apple Devices.

Jamf Pro: A Great Addition To Any School

  • October 23, 2018
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Since we have moved to the cloud, the upgrade structure has been great. It's fantastic how quickly the turn around is on getting the upgrade implemented. It has been great that Jamf keeps updating and implementing new and better ways to manage iOS devices and better the Jamf software.
What do you dislike about the product?
Then number one complaint I have is the slowness we sometimes experience when manipulating an iPad. Sometimes it takes far too long to load the management tab for individual iPads. This sometimes slows down our responses to staff and students.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A feature we didn't think we would use much is Enable Lost Mode. We give several of our iPads out to both staff and students. We have had a number of both misplace their iPads. The ability to both have the device make a sound and show where it is at has been a huge help for us.

The flexibility of the management suite and the tools offered.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn’t anything I have found that I dislike.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The management and compliance of our Macs.

Easy to use with a few snags.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the usability of Jamf. I have been able to convince colleagues that Jamf is the way of Mac management for the future by actually showing them what it can do in live demos. Each year I get more and more excited for what Jamf rolls out and it encourages me to continue growing technically.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's still a few snags in the prestage enrollment. This is something that can hurt our rollout. With new things like prestage enrollment packages, I think it could help our rollot
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're the fastest growing company in america right now. Getting Macs into users hands as fast as possible is important. Jamf has helped us do that.

Excellent Mac interaction

What do you like best about the product?
Ability to manage macs without having to touch them. Device enrollment makes life much easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the main aspects I don’t like is my own lack of knowledge. It seems like a lot of things are in place I’m just not well versed in such as patch management.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to deploy machines all over campus with jamf pro. Most of which are rarely touched by a tech.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just do it.
