What do you like best about the product?
Jamf Pro is incredibly well thought out from it's features to it's menu navigation. JAMF have clearly done all they can to make the experience for the user as problem free and as easy as possible. The layout is sleek and professional.
What do you dislike about the product?
In all honesty, I am yet to really find any particular feature that I dislike. The development from the JSS to Jamf Pro is notable and I am nothing but impressed with the clear improvements.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jamf Pro is helping us realize our ambition of rolling out a full 1 to 1 laptop system.

Just... the best!

What do you like best about the product?
Intuitive interface. Planty of features. Wherever a need arises, JAMF finds a solution. Sometimes I have a feeling that JAMF is faster than Apple :)
What do you dislike about the product?
It is really hard to say, for sure it is a money. But all best things in a world have a price. At least we know what we got in return.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are managing all Apple devices in our organisation (about 1500 Mac devices). Thanks to JAMF, we are able to meet all operational, business and security requirements.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
JAMF is an indispensable tool for any central management needs.

Good product for use in the enterprise but struggles with large installation packages

  • October 02, 2018

What do you like best about the product?
The Self Service App is the best part of the application. It provides quick access to supported apps and allows users to access other resources on the network such as printers. The second best part of Jamf is that it provides a quick look at the hardware of the device and the software installed.
What do you dislike about the product?
Does not handle large installation files. We have several Art and Music related apps that are GBs in size. Jamf simply does not work well with those large installation packages.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are moving away from imaging our macs. Jamf Pro provides a quick, mostly hands free way of configuring our Macs for labs and for staff/faculty. We also use it as a simple way for end users to add printers to their Macs.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Jamf Pro seems to work best with "standard" applications. If you can purchase an app through the App store, Jamf will do a great job managing that application. It also does a great job working with adjusting the settings you would normally apply to your end users' devices. However, if you use complex apps, or if you are used to digging deeply into the configurations of your devices, Jamf Pro may not meet all your needs.

What do you like best about the product?
That Jamf puts a strong emphasis on keeping up with Apple’s changes.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only reason I didn’t give it a 10 is the price, but it ends up being worth it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps us keep our fingers on the pulse of our fleet inventory wise and helps us to put the end user in control with proper IT guidance baked in.

Jamf is Best in class and we could not have pulled off everything without it.

What do you like best about the product?
Integration with DEP, VPP, and the Self Service app is awesome. We have provided several custom solutions thru the Self Service app to our Managed Clients. We have self help tools, Tech Support Tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
I really want us to be able to move to the cloud, but not having MySQL access is a big bummer, cause the API can only do so much.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Admin Access Provisioning, several support tools for end users to run themselves via Self Service app.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is best in class, save yourself some time!

Great tool to make your Mac environment run smoothly and quickly

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to to push out new updates and software installs. Capabilities to add policies and easily run. Find recovery keys and remote wipe systems. MDM usage a must in a corporate environment and JAMF pro makes that so simple.
What do you dislike about the product?
hard to navigate if you do not have the filters set to search and UX not that great and intuitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Running new updates with a package install and able to benefit with pushing these updates
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's the best way to manage your entire Mac environment under one umbrella.

    Education Management

Jamf Pro in the Higher Ed. Space

What do you like best about the product?
The ease with which you can assist users with a variety of problems that happen on the day to day.
What do you dislike about the product?
Occasional difficulty imaging machines and problems that arise from maintaining a poorly documented system. No Dark Theme. Can't immediately jump to a script from a policy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Providing users with Application support and updates remotely and quickly. Imaging machines to a users specific requirement. Larger scale deployment of many machines with similar/identical configuration. Its great to pull a computer out of the box, install Jamf, and hit the go button.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Clearly document the entire workflow as things are created and modified. A mess of overlapping policies, profiles, and groups can crop up quickly if unmanaged

Jamf Pro is awesome!

What do you like best about the product?
I throughly enjoy the ease-of-use with using Jamf Pro to manage my iOS and OS X environment.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have been using Jamf Pro/Casper for so long; the Jamf team has done a phenomenal job of continually improving the product with each version.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Management of iOS, OS X devices. I have learned that Self Service has a huge benefit to users that are remote or simply want to manage installs/updates on their own time.

Jamf Pro makes managing your Mac environment a breeze

What do you like best about the product?
Checking in Macs to the platform is simple, using DEP or user-initiated enrollment. We have a zero-touch deployment where we can ship a Mac directly from Apple to any of our offices, our users can unbox it and we are safe knowing it will check in properly and get them started.
What do you dislike about the product?
Would love for Jamf to develop some more native functionality, particularly around DEP notifications. We're glad they bought NoMAD, would love to see more acquisitions and rollups like that in the future.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We couldn't manage our 300+ fleet of Macs without Jamf. They are the industry standard for a reason. If you have any Macs or iOS devices to manage, you need Jamf.

Great Product, Pretty good support, high price

What do you like best about the product?
JAMF has a great product - I don't think there's anything on the market that compares to it. If a company has a substantial Macintosh deployment, they almost need JAMF. You've become the gold standard.
What do you dislike about the product?
Historically, the UI has been clunky, but I think it's gotten better. I'd love the UI to better walk you through how to setup policies & configuration profiles with workflows / wizards / something. Lastly, your support used to be stellar, and I think there was a turning point a year or so ago when our personalized CS person was taken away. I think it's been better recently? I don't need to use it that often, so I don't have a great pulse on this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We only use Macintosh laptops as a company, so we use JAMF for life cycle management of all employee laptops across the organization.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's a great product that continues to get better. You'll need to spend time to justify the cost to executive management because I think it's kind of pricey.
